The next afternoon at lunch Massie had Issaac drop off Starbucks blonde vanilla lattes for her clique. The entire morning she had felt like a weight was lifted off her shoulders; she had accomplished her plan and all that was left to do was reap the rewards.
Left and right girls were practically staring at the new OCD alpha, waiting to see how she would affect the school. Already the wanna-bes had scheduled their appointments to add chestnut highlights to their hair and ordered new gold jewelry to match Massie. The LBRs had learned to stop avoiding Skye's old classes and start avoiding Massies. Even now as she sat sipping her latte, Massie knew that in her next period class everyone would be asking what she ordered so they could try.
She had almost felt bad, at first, for getting Skye in trouble with her parents. After all, she had also wanted adults to stay out of her business. But now as her friends sat around her celebrating their success, she didn't feel bad. She felt untouchable.
Her good mood didn't even falter when Alicia's friend, Olivia Ryan, approached their table to ask them a question.
"Hey guys, sorry to bother you Massie," the dumb blonde mumbled, "Everyone was just wondering... well... since Skye doesn't go here anymore and she usually hosts the homecoming party uh..."
"Olivia," Massie cut her off, "I'm going to stop you right there." The rest of the PC smiled waiting for Massie's response. "First of all, don't ever mention that bottle-blonde bimbo to me ever again. She is D2M: Dead to me. Second, when I do announce my party, 'everyone' that was asking about it better be begging on their knees to receive an invitation. Kay?" Massie smiled and turned away from the girl, who stood there in shock a moment.
"Bye Olivia." Dylan declared, sending the girl scurrying off.
"No offense Alicia, but you can nawt be friends with her anymore." Kristen joked.
"I'm already unfriending her on facebook." Alicia replied whipping out her phone and tapping the screen a few times.
"Speaking of parties..." Massie paused for suspense, "I have a little surprise for you guys." She retrieved her wallet from her bag and unzipped it, pulling out the matte black card she had received just over a week ago.
"No way." Dylan put down her barely-touched drink. "Is that what I think it is?"
"Oh it is!" Alicia answered.
"I say we deserve to go out and get a little something nice for the party." Massie grinned, "You guys down to skip tomorrow?" She asked, mostly to Kristen who would normally object to ditching class. The other girls turned to look at her.
"Guys I'm not an idiot." She responded. "I'd pick shopping over Shakespeare any day, especially if it's on Massie!" Everyone burst out laughing.
"Actually... it's on Kuh-aire," Massie giggled.
"To Kuh-aire!" Kristen proposed, holding her starbucks out to cheers.
"TO KUH-LAIRE!" They all laughed and shoved their plastic cups together.
