Keith POV:

After I was able to get Lance back to the bed and roll his bloody suit back on him, I knew I had to do something to distract myself. I stripped the inside of my ship for anything leaving everything bare. I organized everything back at the shack. We had some food rations, blankets, med kits, containers, and filter pods. The first thing we needed was water. I checked back at the ship for any info on the planet's weather. It rained but not often enough to sustain us so I went searching for any pod of running water. It felt awful to leave Lance but I knew we needed water so I just kept walking. Eventually the thoughts I was trying to push back started to cloud my mind. I have had feelings for him ever since we were back at the garrison. But he hated me so I kept them to myself. Now we are alone together and all I want to do is comfort and take care of him. Him asking to hold my hand was just accidental. He probably won't even remember. My mind stopped racing when I saw it. Water. It was a small river but it was water. I collected as much of it as possible in the containers and made my way back to the shack. My heart grew lighter with every step knowing I was getting closer to him. When I finally got back to him he was still asleep. Covered in sweat, tears and blood that could have belonged to either one of us. The room was dark now because what I can only assume was this planet's version of the sun was setting. Then it started to get cold really cold. I got all the blankets and put them on top of Lance. I sat at the edge of the bed and pulled my knees up to my face trying to stay warm. "Idiot" I immediately looked over at an awake Lance, "You gave me all the blankets you are going to freeze." He kicked them off to the ground. "Hey! What are you doing?!" 'I'm not taking them you need them more than me" he argued "Galras run warm" I said pulling the blankets back onto the bed "You are half galra so that means half cold" He let out laugh at his own bad joke and then grabbed his stomach leaning over in pain. "It hurts a lot." He was taking in sharp breathes now. "You need to take deep breaths Lance" His breathing became more ragged. I could tell his body was starting to feel the pain again. I leaned forward "Please Lance just breathe." He looked at me, his eyes trying to show me how much he was hurting. I panicked he was In pain and I was just watching. I leaned forward and pulled myself behind him and I was looking at the back of his head. Before he could get to confused I put my hand on his arms and pulled him on to my chest. We stayed like that for a moment then his breathing started to slow back down. I pulled the blankets up over us and ran one of my hand through his hair. He relaxed and fell back asleep as his head fell to its side on my chest. Both of us were warm now and it felt like the whole world went quiet. I was glad he was asleep because if not he would have heard my heart going a million miles a minute. I can't get attached. He is going to wake up and laugh or forget about this. He doesn't even like you don't get attached. I wish he did like me but there is nothing I can do about that. All I can do now is enjoy the time I have just the two of us. I finally closed my eyes and listened to him breathe as I fell asleep.
