Matt's POV:
"Nick, sit back from the telly a bit," I said, using my hand to usher him to move the chair back a little. "You'll get square eyes."

"Sorry mum," he mocked.

"Matt, you don't honestly believe that whole square eyes pish, do you?" Jamie asked in an unamused manner.

"Hey!" I exclaimed in defence, "I ain't taking no chances."

"You know, I think it'd actually be quite cool to have square eyes," Nick said randomly, "don't ya think?"

"I'll tell you what I think," Miles chuckled, "think you've had a bit too many of these," he added, taking out a beer from the case.

"I kinda get what he means," Jamie joined in.

"Well then you've had a little too many as well," Miles laughed.

Alex and Breana then entered the room.

Together.

What the fuck were they two doing outside together?

Did they honestly have a normal conversation without ripping one another's heads off?

That's new.

As soon as Breana's gaze locked on mine I looked away, and for some reason Alex looked to her as though he was genuinely concerned.

He whispered something for only her to hear and they both sat down on the other settee, at the opposite side of the room to me.

I assumed that she had told him about our small quarrel earlier, but it still confused me as to why he looked like he actually cared.

"What's their deal?" Kelly asked me from the side, in a quiet and hushed tone.

I simply shrugged, unable to find an answer to that question myself.

"I heard you and Bre earlier," she sighed. "Is everything okay?"

I shrugged once more.

"C'mon, Matt."

"She was just being difficult with me," I said. "She's always taking her moods out on me the now and I just want some space to breathe."

"You broke up with her?" Kelly gasped in horror. "Matt, what the fuck!"

"No, Kelly, we never broke up," I exhaled, bringing my hand to pinch at the bride of my nose.

"Good," she responded, "I almost just had a mini-heart-attack there."

I just simply shot her a look in response.

"Have you spoken to her since?" she asked.

"No," I returned. "She needs to stop being so quick-tempered before I can forgive her."

"But Matt, you can't ask that of her," she sighed. "Breana loves you, but it is who she is."

"No, Kelly, you don't understand," I sighed. "It's too much right now. She's starting on me for literally the most pointless things."

"Give me an example," she said, in a way which suggested that she didn't believe me.

"She were mad at me because I cheated on her in her dream," I frowned.

Kelly couldn't help but huff a laugh, almost accidentally spitting her drink out as she did so.

"I'm sorry," she apologised, continuing to chuckle to herself as she wiped under her nose with her sleeve.

"It's not funny, Kelly. It's ridiculous."

"So that's why you two are being so distant?" she asked, unamused.
