we were about to land in new york, which meant i was about to see shawn - i couldn't be any more excited, it had only been a couple days since we saw each other but it felt like forever.
me, ally and aaliyah even made a group chat on instagram so we could talk to each other, ally was fangirling to me the whole time, she was probably more excited to meet aaliyah than she was shawn, which i mean is valid - she has spent a handful of months with him.
it was also new year's eve eve, as ally calls it - basically the day before new year's day. which meant that everyone was rushing around with last minute shopping for food and alcohol, so it was a fun time driving through traffic in the early hours of the morning, i still wouldn't trade it for anything though because we spent the whole journey listening to music, watching movies and even playing games we used to play as children like "i spy".
there was also a lot of people flying to new york that day probably because new york is one of the best locations to spend new years in, you know, with the whole ball drop and everything.
shawn and me decided to book a rooftop apartment with an amazing view of the ball drop instead of the house we were going to originally get and we even invited some friends over for the new years party we're hosting, shawn brought over brian and two of his other friends and i brought over victoria monet, a singer, songwriter and producer - we've actually grown quite close since the release of my album and we want to produce a song together eventually.
but i also wanted her to help produce my next album, she seems like such a good person to work with, but i heard that she works only exclusively with tommy brown, he's a really good producer, only problem? he's hard to get.
i had also written quite a few songs over christmas, they were about shawn but i also have one dedicated to my dad and i'm planning to put them on my second album, hopefully if the label likes them.
there was a huge crowd waiting for me for when i arrived at baggage claim, and well everyone apart from mr milano was used to it so ally gave him a quick crash course from the minute the plane was about to land.
he looked terrified.

it was a whole ordeal, they were following us to the point where airport security had to get involved just to be able to get our suitcases, i swear i might need to start think about getting a private jet.
