A certain knight is delicately holding a white colored envelope on her hands. A look of worry and sadness was etched on her face as she looked at the dear traveler, Anzhong. Noelle was rather worried if the traveler would take the news rather well.
The maid saw the dear traveler by the lakeside near the Wangshu Inn where's she staying at. She was hunting for some fish as her resources are starting to run out. Noelle cleared her throat which made Anzhong's full attention to her making the tiger fish swim away.
"Keqing... ah, wanted to give this to you" Noelle softly mumbles before handing the envelope to her. It has a purple colored electro vision wax stamp as a seal making Anzhong think that it was probably from Keqing as she haven't seen the Yuheng for a while.
Anzhong dropped the spear she's using for fishing on the ground and went to reach out for the letter. Noelle excused herself and went to the rest to the of the team where Qiqi and Xiangling were starting to ignite a camp to cook the food.
The female traveler gently unsealed the envelope and started reading the contents of the letter. It had said that Keqing retired from the team as she wanted to grow even stronger and train, but until then.. Anzhong needed to find a replacement for Keqing. The female traveler folded the letter and tucked it in her bag. She then eyed the amount of fish she caught and figured that it was already enough to last for her team so she went to the rest and cooked the food.
She also explained the current situation to the others and they couldn't help but get sad. But that's how a real journey goes, one must leave for one can grow stronger.
As dusk came by, Anzhong and her team went back to Wangshu Inn where Verr Goldet had prepared some food for them. The boss also asked if they could give a serving of Almond Tofu to an adeptus by the rooftop. He only shows up when someone offers a serving of almond tofu, it was his favorite food anyway. Verr Goldet also said that the adeptus might come off as rude, but secretly he's looking for a team to go on an adventure with.
Anzhong nodded and excused herself from her team to deliver the almond tofu. She quickly rushed upwards and a male with a dark shade of teal hair color was currently on the rooftop. The male was looking at the distance with a monochrome expression though he turned around when he felt a presence.
"Verr Goldet wanted me to give this to you" the traveler smiled and handed the plate of the cloud-like tofu towards the adeptus. "I heard that you're-"
The adeptus, Xiao turned his head away and interrupted the female. "Place it somewhere and leave"
The female traveler was taken aback from what he had said that she frowned. The boss of the inn was rather right, he really was quite rude. Anzhong gripped on the plate tightly, "Take this meal. It was made for you. Be grateful. Also don't cut anyone if they're trying to tell you something."
Xiao then turned around to face Anzhong while crossing his arms and leaning against the wooden railing of the terrace. A look of skepticism and wonder was plastered on the adeptus' face as he look at the traveler from head to toe. "I don't like being told off by the descendant of Osial himself. Now shoo, don't I make myself clear enough?"
Anzhong didn't wanted to be the descendant of Osial himself as he was despised by everyone since he wanted to steal Zhongli's gnosis but wasn't rather successful. A strong wave of emotion was felt by the traveler, but instead of retaliating she just heaved out a sigh. Calm down.. it's not worth it.
"I just.. wanted to ask if you wanted to join my team" the traveler asked once more.
"I'll try things out" Xiao mumbles before walking inside of the inn, not minding Anzhong as he does so.
A frown appeared on Anzhong's face as she turn around. She shook her head and looked at the plump pieces of tofu on the plate before following Xiao, still with the plate on her hands.
Her team didn't mind that there's already someone who replaced Keqing. Though it was rather awkward since Xiao was the only male in the group but nevertheless, they welcomed the adeptus with smiles and laughter.
The next day they all went to do their commissions, but..
"We should do this commission first since the rest are quite easy" "No. Lets leave that for last"
The female traveler and the adeptus were bickering as to what commission they'll do first. Qiqi, Xiangling and Noelle were both at the back as they didn't want to get involved within their fight.
"I am the traveler here. I get to choose what goes first" Anzhong snatched the map away from the adeptus and pointed at a purple mark. "Let's go here"
Everyone agreed except for Xiao. But he had to follow since Anzhong was technically the leader of the team.
Eventually, as time goes by Xiao developed a some sort of attachment within the group. He felt at ease and happy whenever he gets to fight with Anzhong.
He won't admit it but he did developed a feeling of attraction towards the traveler even though she was the descendant of Zhongli's enemy.
