ABIGAIL FELT A LUMP START TO FORM IN HER THROAT. she stared at the man sat beside her, completely dumbfounded. she studied his face as they both sat in silence, unaware of what to say to the other.

after what felt like an hour, abi spoke up, laughing to herself at her naivety "so this is why erika wanted to swap seats,"
eric exhaled through his nose and nodded at her realization and in awe that the plan actually had worked.

eric had sat beside abi for the most part of the plane ride, wondering what he could say. and trying not to speak as he knew his voice would give him away straight away. when he saw abi he was taken aback by how amazing she looked.

he hadn't known if he should open with an apology or a greeting, the question had been swimming around his head for the last few hours. with now only a few hours left of the plane ride, he wanted to talk to abi as much as possible. he just didn't know where to start, apologize? compliment her? ask her how she is?

"im sorry," abi cut off eric's train of thought. unaware of why she would be apologizing, eric scrunched his eyebrows at the girl in confusion and motioned for her to continue. "i should've at least responded when you apologized, i feel like i overreacted a little, what happened was out of your control and i should've understood." abi felt a tear roll down her cheek, as she refused to meet his eyes. she didn't know if it was a tear from how nervous she was or from thinking about the events of the last few days.

eric smiled at abi and cupped her face with his hands, wiping away the stray tear and making her turn towards him. "we both could've dealed with it all a lot better, it's okay it's a learning curve I guess," they both laughed as they looked at each other and agreed that they both could've been smarter.

they both looked towards erics hands, which were still placed on abis face. eric laughed and kept his hands where they were, trying to make the situation lighter. "im just gonna keep my hands here thanks," abi laughed, feeling her nerves starting to settle and copied eric's actions by placing her hands on his face.

most people on their flight had fallen asleep by this point so they weren't exactly scared for someone to see what they were sat like, "this would be a sight if someone walked passed right now," abi broke the silence again, the silence held between the two making her slightly nervous.

eric giggled as he thought about what they looked like if anyone was to look at them, "shut up," abi laughed at the cliche of the situation before she exaggeratedly rolled her eyes and jokingly whispered "make me,"

eric stared into her eyes and moved his hands to abis jawline, quickly pulling her in and joining their lips together.
