James and Adam were sitting in James's room. They were taking some dyslexia test together, just for fun.
'Do you get confused when given several instructions at once?' James read from the screen.
'Let's test that out. James, go grab me the Ritz and also turn on the lamp, while turning off the lamp again.' Adam replied.
James got up from his chair, walked over to the light switch and turned off the lamp.
'Nope, you already messed up!' Adam laughed.
'What!? You said turn ON the lamp, but there's nothing to turn on!' James defended.
'No, I said first, go get the Ritz and THEN turn off the lamp.' Adam explained still laughing.
'I didn't know the order mattered!' James said, his face turning slightly red.
'Actually no, I meant turn ON the lamp, THAT lamp.' Adam continued pointing at something behind the blonde.
'Oh, you mean the- Okay, you just confused two things, because that's a ceiling fan!' James said as he turned to look at what his friend was pointing at.
'Nope, you're dyslexic!' Adam laughed and James threw the Ritz he'd picked up back onto his bed.
'Okay, next question.' James said as he sat back down.
'Do you find it difficult to find the right word to say?' He read.
He glanced over at Adam, thinking for a second before clicking his answer on the computer.
'Yeah. Because it's always like, after you talk with someone or an argument, like you think of what to say afterwards.' He explained.
'Like you're trying to tell your crush that you like him.' Adam said as an example.
'Him?' James asked.
Adam could feel his cheeks turn red as he quickly tried to think of an answer.
'Say what you mean to say...' James sang teasingly.
'There's nothing to say.' Adam said, blushing heavily. He got up and walked towards the door, trying to hide his face from the blonde.
'Adam, wait. Come back.' James said as he got up as well. He ran up to the other boy and turned him around to make the dark haired boy look at him.
'Is everything okay?' James asked as he saw the other boy's red and nervous face.
Maybe it was time to tell him. Maybe he should just get it over with. Adam had been feeling al nervous and flustered around James for a while now and he wasn't sure how much longer he could hide this.
'James, I don't know how to tell you this, but I'm...' He started, but he couldn't do it. His throat closed up and he was having trouble breathing. He wanted to say it, but he couldn't.
'You're what?' James asked.
'I'm...' Sounds didn't continue to come from his mouth as he was trying to reply, but Adam just couldn't say it.
'Are you trying to say that... that you're... gay?' James asked.
'James, I...'
'I mean that's what I'm guessing from the context.'
'No, James, I'm trying to tell you...'
'I'm not judging or anything, don't worry, you're allowed to love whoever you want.'
'James, listen, I wanna tell you that I...'
'I can understand that it's hard to come out. But, Adam, I want you to know that you have my full support and...'
'JAMES, I'M IN LOVE WITH YOU!'
The blonde went silent and looked at the boy in front of him in surprise.
'Y-you l-love me?' He asked, almost in a whisper.
Adam's face turned as red as it possibly could as he shyly stared at the floor.
'Yes...' He muttered.
For a moment James just stared at him, his brain not fully able to register what was happening. Adam liked him. Adam liked him! Adam liked him too! The blonde put his arms around Adam's neck and pulled the dark haired boy closer before pressing his lips against Adam's. For a moment, Adam was caught by surprise but he quickly melted into it, wrapping his arms around the other boy, one hand on James's back, the other fizzling around in his blonde hair.Suddenly they were interrupted by a knock on the door of their dorm followed by a muffled, familiar voice calling from the other side.
'Hey, are you two there? Hurry up, we wanna go get lunch!' Maaz called.
'You both look really... red. Is something wrong?' Jaiden asked when the two boys opened the door.
'No!' The two answered in unison, maybe just a little to quickly.
'Are you guys ready to go?' Laddi asked.
'Give me a moment, I'm gonna go get a hoodie.' Adam replied before turning around and entering his room as quickly as possible. He tried not to hyperventilate as his mind started comprehending what had just happened. James had kissed him! James kissed him back! He had confessed his love to the blonde and James kissed him! He heard the door open behind him. When he turned around he saw the blonde walk in. James's face was very red and he shyly looked at the ground.
'I... I didn't get the chance to say it, but I'm in love with you too.' He muttered shyly.
'I figured...' Adam replied, laughing nervously.
'Does... does that make us... a thing?' James asked.
'If that's okay for you.'
'Ofcourse it is!'
Adam smiled as he put on his red common sense hoodie and quickly placed a kiss on the blonde's lips before walking over to the door.
'You coming, Baby boy?' Adam chuckled as he reached his hand out for the blonde to take. James blushed and grabbed the dark haired boy's hand, holding it as they left the room.It had been over a week since James and Adam started dating. They were cuddled up on the couch watching a movie.
'I'll never get enough from Marvel.' Adam sighed as he turned off the movie when it was done.
'We can watch another one.' James suggested as he snuggled into Adam's chest.
'Tempting, but we shouldn't sit in front of the tv the entire day. Why don't we invite the others to go hang out?' Adam proposed.
'They're probably busy doing homework.' James countered.
'Even better reason. Homework goes a lot faster if you work on it together.' Adam replied.
'But.., but... but I hoped to spend the day with you. Just the two of us.' James whined.
Adam felt conflicted. While he absolutley loved he idea of spending alone time with James, his instincts were telling him something was wrong.
As a demon he was trained to detect lies and manipulation, and he had a feeling the blonde was hiding something.
'Is there something you're not telling me, James? You've been acting kinda odd the entire afternoon.' The demon asked.
'What are you talking about?' James asked. That confirmed it. The way he said it, Adam knew for sure his love was hiding something.
'I know you're not telling me something.' Adam said.
'Is it that weird that I just wanna spend some time with you?' James asked.
'No, but it's the way you're saying it and the way you've been acting that makes me feel like...' Adam was cut off when James pressed his lips against his. Adam couldn't help but melt into it, loving the boy in front of him so much. James moved to the dark haired boy's neck, giving kisses and licks.
'Jaaaames.' Adam moaned softly, trying to not get distracted from the situation.
'You like that?' James asked seductively. Adam groaned and pushed the blonde away, getting up. Every part of his being told him to get back down on the couch with James.
'Are you trying to distract me, James?' Adam asked.
'What would I be distracting you from?' The blonde asked back, but Adam knew he was just playing tricks.
'I know a distraction when I see one, James. You've been caught so drop the act.' Adam replied.
James looked down, a little disappointed that he couldn't fool the other boy.
'Since you clearly didn't want me to meet up with the others, I'm assuming they're pulling something I'm not allowed to know.' Adam reasoned. He started to have a tingly feeling down his spine and began to feel a little lightheaded. What was going on?
'We needed someone to keep you away and I thought that would mean I could have a nice day with you. Two birds with one stone.' James muttered.
'What do they not want me to know? What are they doing?' Adam asked, shaking his head as it was getting a little clouded and the tingly feeling spread throughout his body.
'They just didn't wanna worry you. They thought you wouldn't like it since you told them not to dot it. But they're trying to...'
'Summon a demon...' Adam finished the blonde's sentence in shock. He started to recognize the symptoms. He threw the door open and ran. Turning invisible and using his demon speed to go faster. He had to run. The spell would summon the demon that was closest to it. But he was the only demon in town, other demons had their missions elsewhere. Except for one. Mona... he had to get further away from the spell than Mona. While running he took out his phone and called her, as the edge's of his vision became a little darker.
'Hey Adam, what's up?'
'Mona! Where are you?'
'At the warehouse working on the spell. It should be usable in a couple of days.'
'Drop everything and get here as fast as you can, NOW!'
'Calm down, what's wrong?'
'They're trying to summon me and I need you to be closer to them than I am!'
'Why, don't you usually prefer to do these deals with humans yourself?'
'These people don't want a deal, they're my friends!'
'Oh, I see. You don't wan them to know you're a demon.'
'Exactly, now start moving! Go towards the dorms, I'm coming your way! You just gotta get closer to the dorms than me! NOW GO!' Adam pressed the red button on his screen and pocketed his phone. His vision became more and more fuzzy as he felt like he was being pulled away from where he was going.
'No, no, no! This can't be happening!' He muttered, running as fast as he could. He was almost there. Through the blurriness of his vision he could make out the figure of someone running up to him. Was it Mona? His mind became more and more hazy until his senses cut out and his vision went dark.
