(starts off in the month of June-Alexis heading to rehab in December{before Christmas} in the last book)
It had been seven months since Alexis admitted herself into Rehab. She hated the first few weeks there, the people being too "sunshine and rainbows" all the time.
However, after a while, she made friends with some of the other patients. One of the younger girls reminded her of herself, and she knew that was why she constantly tried to protect her.
The girls' name was Eliza. Eliza had been in and out of the place for three years; every time she got out, she'd be back in after a few months.
After a few weeks of being friends with Alexis, Eliza started to actually cooperate. Eliza and Alexis spent most of their days together, and their recovery took a shorter time than both of them expected.
Instead of their treatments taking ten months, the two of them were allowed to leave three months early. Eliza had told Alexis about her life before she got sick, about the good times she had growing up. Alexis didn't speak much about herself, but Eliza never questioned why. This is why she liked Eliza so much.
The day they were told they were allowed to leave soon, the two of them asked each other for their phone numbers so they could communicate after they left the Rehab centre. Alexis hadn't gotten as close to anyone else as she had with Eliza, and she knew she'd at least try to stay in touch with her.
The day she was leaving, she gave her favourite nurse a hug before heading outside to her car. Of course, Alexis had been outside, but only in the little courtyard in the middle of the place. It had a few trees with some hammocks and benches for people to read or sleep during the day. Alexis didn't get to go out there until she was four months in, since it was a privilege.
Alexis struggled for the first few months. She didn't fight with the nurses; she wanted to get better, but there was a part of her that didn't want to be healthy, that thought there was nothing wrong with her.
So there Alexis stood, staring at her car, her phone in her hand. The nurses had finally given back her phone. She hated not being able to talk to any of her friends, but she knew now that it was necessary for her not to have her phone so she could focus on herself.
Alexis walked over to her car and hopped in. The leather was hot because it was directly under the sun. She blasted the AC. When the air was finally at a comfortable temperature, she pulled out her phone and dialled Aaron.
(Aaron's talking is in this Alexis's talking is in this)
"Alexis?"
"Hi, Aaron."
"You... How are you!?" Alexis laughed.
"I'm good. I'm good." She put her seatbelt on and started the car.
"Are... Are you in a car?" She heard the hope in his voice and she smiled.
"I'm coming home."
"What?! Now?" He chuckled.
"Yeah. I was released today."
"Really? I... I can't wait to see you! I missed you so much these past seven months. Oh my god, you're actually coming home?" She heard Aaron scream with joy, and it echoed through her house.
"I'm... I'm on my way home right now." She didn't mean to stutter.
"You're kidding, right?"
"No. I... I was released early."
"How close are you to getting home? I wanna clean up the place a bit." She laughed.
"I haven't left yet, so you've still got forty-five minutes before I get home."Aaron hung up the phone and immediately started running around to clean. He'd been alone for seven months, and the place got a little messy. He kept his promise to keep it relatively clean for the first few months, but he fell into a depression with not being able to talk to her.
