PETER'S POV:

"Where are Natasha and Bucky?" Steve asked. "They haven't come down yet."

"They're busy," I say.

"Busy busy or just busy?" Tony asks and I feel my face heat up.

"Just busy."

"Why aren't they coming down though? I'll go check on them."

"You really shouldn't," I say. They need space to mourn. I thought.

Who're they mourning? Wanda's voice says in my head and I stiffen. Sorry, didn't mean to intrude. I was just curious.

Wanda, it's their business. They don't have to tell you if they don't want to.

I understand.

"If they're not having sex then it'd be fine for Steve to go up."

"I just read Peter's mind. I don't have the full story, but I know enough to tell you that you shouldn't bother them." Wanda says and Steve, Tony, and Rhodey share a look.

"If they don't want people, they don't want people. They can have a day alone, it's not that uncommon." Bruce says.

"Exactly my point!" I exclaim. "Bruce gets it." I turn back to the kitchen and grab some food for both Nat and Bucky.

I carefully bring the tray up the elevator. I hesitate before I walk into their room, what if they don't want me around? They've told me I'm like their kid, how would they feel about me barging in on them mourning their other kid? Whatever, I'm already here, I'll be in and out. I'll barely say anything.

I knock three times on their door before carefully opening it. They look up, at me and they both look horrible. Which was expected, but it's still weird to see two of the most dangerous people I know both crying. "I just thought you might want breakfast," I say and they both nod to me. I set the tray down on the nightstand and turn to leave the room.

"Thanks, Peter." Bucky says, "Hey can I talk to you for a minute?" He asks quietly. I nod, and he leads me out of the room.

"I didn't know if-"

"Peter," Bucky says. "You're a great kid." He takes a deep breath. "Is the team asking about us?" I look down at my feet.

"I wasn't going to mention it because I didn't want to bother you, but yeah."

"I expected that. If they keep asking, and you're okay with it, you can tell them." He says.

"Like shoebox flash drives everything?" I ask and he nods.

"If you're okay telling them."

"I'm fine telling them, but I thought you would want to be the one to tell them. I mean, she was your daughter..." I trail off.

"Peter, let me rephrase it. I would rather you tell the team than I would. I can barely think about her without wanting to cry. We don't really want the team to see us crying our eyes out as we tell them about her." He explains and I nod. "I'll give you the box so you can show them everything."

"Okay," I say quietly. "Will you give Natasha a hug for me? She looks like she could use it."

"I think she'd like it better if it came from you. Go give her a hug, I'll get the box." I nod and walk over to her. I wrap my arms around her and she buries her head in my neck.

"Love you, Nat," I whisper and she hugs me tighter, for a couple of seconds before she looks at me with her rubbed red eyes.

"I love you too Peter." She says, her voice cracking.
