"Oh, but you were wonderful, truly magnificent. I mean we saw you on the first night and you were once again excellent, but tonight you were truly incredible, wasn't he David, tell him he was wonderful David."

"Oh yes, very good." The elder man who had just been elbowed in the ribs by his chatty wife nodded with a soft smile. His wrinkled features and the way that his glasses continuously slid off the bridge of his nose seeming to make the brunette smile in return. His heart warming to the man, he now knew was called David, who had clearly been worn down after years of having to agree to his wife. A factor which had surprisingly not destroyed his spirit as he continued to look at her with a loving sentiment in between his glances back to the singer.

"Well, I think very good is a bit of an understatement!" David's wife - who Joe still didn't have a name for - cackled in response as she readjusted the small red purse she kept a hold of over the crook of her left elbow. "But seriously though you were incredible. How long have you been doing this for? It must be nearly five years now because that was when I first came on this cruise - but on that one we didn't stop off at Monaco like we are tomorrow - but I came with my friend Christine instead of with David here and we came and watched you perform then. I'll be honest you weren't as good back then as you are now, but now that you're older I see you've got much better. A lot more matured and your voice has become more powerful which is just fantabulous to see. But really how long has it been since you started doing this?"

"About seven years now." Joe answered politely, not letting in to the fact that this woman's rambling - whilst completely good natured - was driving him absolutely barmy.

"Wow, seven years!" The elder woman echoed as her big blue eyes widened further than the singer thought humanly possible, forcing her poorly drawn on eyebrows to take cover under the blonde wisps of hair which just surpassed as a fringe for her bobbed haircut. "Well, I hope there's many more years to come, because I can tell that you will have a very promising career young man. I mean, I'm no Simon Cowell or anything, but I really do think you're going to make it. Isn't he David."

"Oh yes, definitely." David mumbled once again with an assertive nod of his head, a small gesture which reminded the brunette of his grandad. Especially with the unique style of having one of his shirt collars tucked into his jumper whilst the other stuck out.

"Well thank you very much for saying so, but I won't count my chickens just yet." Joe responded when he saw a moment to contribute to the conversation. Nodding his head towards each member of the couple from his elevated position where he sat on the stage with his legs dangling off of it at the knee. A half empty water bottle sloshing about as he passed it from hand to hand, spinning it in his palm as he listened to the woman natter on.

"Ohh, I think you could. But if you are ever looking for some extra work, do you know what you would be doing around September time?"

"Oh well I don't know, for what reason?" Joe asked, slightly sceptical of where the woman was going with this line of questioning

"Because our Daughter Hannah, who for the record I think you would like very much, wouldn't he David."

"Hmm." David responded, his agreements seeming to become shorter and shorter as the conversation continued, a sentiment which made Joe chuckle a little bit more.

"Well, our Hannah is getting married you see and she's looking for a singer or for a band to take control of the music at her wedding reception. Truth be told she's looking for anything which would trump her fiancés idea of getting his friend, an aspiring DJ you see, to be in charge. She told me she wants her wedding to be classy, not class C." The woman said with a chuckle after her slight pun which she seemed to think was the height of comedy. "Anyway, when she told me that's what she was looking for, I told her about you and about how my friend Christine and I, you know Christine? About how her and I watched you several times on our cruise and that you would be perfect. And now, here David and I are on a cruise to celebrate our 35th Wedding anniversary, and who should I see as the headlining act, well I was flabbergasted, wasn't I David? Anyway I promised my Hannah I would ask, so do you reckon you would be free?" She asked, a glimmer of hope in her eyes which made the brunette smile, his want to laugh at the woman and her rather peculiar request being quelled by every ounce of maturity and professionalism he had left in his body.
