Hunter's POV:

I look between Ash and Rosa, my mind unable to comprehend what was happening. "What are you?" I ask my brother, looking at him with confusion. "Who are you?" He looks afraid and upset at my questions but I have to know. I have to know. "Ash, what's going on?"

He sighs and shoots Rose a glare but I see that he's not as angry as he looks to be. Next to me, she's giving him a half guilty and half cheeky expression, motion for him to speak to me. "I'm still your brother if you're wondering." He starts, looking at me straight on when Rosa makes it clear that she isn't going to speak to him. "But I'm not just a vampire. As you know."

"You're a wolf," I reply, he nods and turns around, pulling the right shoulder of his shirt down so I can see the mark tattooed on the surface. "You're a Moonblood?" I can hear the incredulity in my tone and try to hide it but he nods, letting my eyes soak up the Luna Moon mark there. Exactly like Rosa's. "So you're a hybrid of moonblood wolf and pureblood vampire?" I ask slowly, and I see Ash nod, turning around. "How?"

He shrugs. "That's one question I've had for the last I don't even know how long." Ash continues to look at me with an unsure expression and I try to wrap my head around what he's saying but it's difficult - almost impossible - to reconcile the image of my brother that I've had for over three centuries with the one I now have to rationalise. "I don't know how it's possible but it is. I'm exactly half and half."

"A hybrid," I say slowly, seeing his face take on a slightly lighter expression and he nods, clearly seeing that I've come to terms with the revelation as much as I can. But he still looks strangely between me and Rosa and she seems to notice, her brows drawing down into a frown that pinches her features.

"What is it, Ash?" She asks, gesturing to the way he's looking between the two of us. The longer she stares at him the more likely it looks for a second that he'll talk to us before he shifts his attention to Chalice who's also looking between the two of us with a similarly quizzical expression. Rosa turns, her eyes now firmly fixed on her friend. "Chal? What's wrong?" Her eyes remain fixed on her friend for some time before an expression of shock dawns on her face. "Are...are you sure?" She asks after a long moment of pregnant silence. Her friend nods, eyes wide and darting between the two of us with increased fervour and urgency that makes me nervous. She looks back at me, her features still pulled down into a frown. "Are you sure?" She repeats to Chalice who nods.

"I'm sure." Is all she replies. Sure of what? I think to myself before Rosa's eyes narrow slightly the amber colour flashing like an ominous warning sign. Acting out of instinct I move to step back but she just shakes her head violently, her dark hair making a wild cloud around her beautiful face, shading her eyes from view.

"It's ok." Her voice is somewhat muffled by her hair but I still manage to hear what she says. When her eyes fixed on mine again after a moment I see that the amber is a steady colour, drowning out the other colours in her eyes except for a glint of gold near the edges, a subtle change. She smiles. "I'm ok, I'm not going to lose control." Her saying the words out loud does little to comfort me but I decide to trust her and remain standing where I was. She looks back to Chalice and Ash who are both staring at her with somewhat expectant expressions. "Will I feel it too?" Now she sounds a little afraid but before I can ask her what she's worried about feeling she's already received her reply without my seeing and she takes a breath, composing herself. "I'm ready. Assuming your right, that is."
