weekends were joshua's favorite days of the week for a number of reasons, the first being that they were days where he didn't have to go to school meaning he was free to study all day. the second was that when he wasn't studying, he was spending time with his friends whether it be going to the mall or just hanging out at either wonwoo's or mingyu's houses. the last was that weekends, including fridays, were when his mother didn't have to work which left her time to spend with her son. joshua usually didn't bother his mom on fridays because either he had plans with his friends or she had plans involving her bed and a nice twelve hour nap.

saturdays and sundays though were strictly mother and son bonding times. the two made it a tradition to spend every saturday and sunday morning together with a nice breakfast to start the day. it was during these morning sessions where the two caught up with one another; it was also during one of these breakfasts that joshua's mother found out about jun and her son's crush on the strange chinese male she had also grown fond of (they chatted occasionally on her timeline, either about joshua or a cooking show they both loved watching). no matter what they had planned for their days, both joshua and his mother always made sure to keep their mornings free for each other. that was why it was a big deal when joshua woke up to an empty house, with only a note from his mom informing him that he was yet again alone.

she had to cover a shift for a friend and would be back later on in the evening, but that still didn't help joshua feel any better about missing out on their morning tradition. in fact he felt torn down by the emptiness in the house. the brunette woke up with an uneasy feeling in his chest and he had been looking forward to talking it out with his mom. now he was just left with that horrible uneasy feeling and an empty house which was ironic because the absolute last thing he wanted was to be alone.

and so joshua decided that he wasn't going to be alone today. he wasn't going to resort to burying himself in books to hide from his fear of being alone, not when he had a very understanding boyfriend to go to. jun was someone he never felt alone with mainly because the purple haired teenager would never allow joshua to feel such a way when he was around. even when they were around other people jun made joshua feel like he was seen, like he was important. the brunette knew all about how jun felt when they were together, but joshua was sure that his boyfriend underestimated the effects of his own presence on him.

it took joshua half an hour to wander his way to jun's house. he walked really slowly because of the uneasy feeling in his chest that was just clawing at his insides. the only thing keeping him from not staying home cuddled up with a pile of assignments to keep him busy was the thought of jun taking him in and making that feeling in his chest disappear. his boyfriend was really good at distracting him from everything else going on in life; jun's carefree attitude was one of the things that joshua loved about him.

it then took joshua another minute to be let in by jun's father who greeted him with a warm smile. jun's parents were fond of him just like how his own mother adored jun as if he were her son as well. because of this, both families were comfortable with either of the two making surprise visits to the other's homes. jun even got into the habit of spending time with joshua's mother when joshua wasn't even home, that was how comfortable they were. jun's father also didn't question joshua's arrival and instead he directed the brunette right to jun's room where the purple haired student was residing.

"and so snow white started to live with the seven dwarfs although honestly it was more like they enslaved her because she basically was their maid and not by choice." joshua smiled just hearing the sound of his boyfriend's voice. he stepped into the doorway of the chinese male's and leaned against it as he watched jun start to enthusiastically preach to his younger brother about a fairytale, unaware of his presence. jun had mentioned to joshua once about how jackson also loved reading and would make him read books aloud to him, but he never mentioned how cute they both looked while doing so. "never let anyone make you their unwilling servant jackson, be with people who make you happy."
