"I'm gonna die," Misty groaned, pressing a cool cloth to her forehead, an ice pack to the collarbone.
Temari chuckled, leaning in the doorway to the living room. "Too hot for you?"
The teen peeked out from under the cloth at the blonde. "I think the weather is dandy in every other season, exceptthe summer. I'll take the Land of Water any day since it's so cool now."
"I thought you liked seeing us?"
"Oh, I do, don't get me wrong, but the heat and I do not get along."
"Well maybe it's because you're not wearing the appropriate clothing. There's no breathing room in that fabric or reflects heat. Let's go shopping."
"Yes, please!"
The two girls quickly walked through the streets of Suna, Temari waving to those she knew before both disappeared inside a shop. Tank tops, looser clothing, sandals, T-shirts, and shorts. Misty had it all, and they left with arms full of bags back to the house.
"We'll do the laundry so you can change ASAP-"
"I call gathering both of our baskets!" Misty quickly exclaimed.
"Not fair!"
"Hey! They're your brothers."
"Have you smelled Kankuro's room?"
"Duh, I've had to help him with puppets every now and then! That's why I called dibs before you could."
"Not fair," the older sister grumbled, Misty smirking.
"Better luck next time, Temari."
They gathered the loads and new clothing, retreating into the kitchen to make some lemonade. "Ah, this is amazing," Misty grinned, sitting in front of a small fan.
Temari rolled her eyes. "You're such a weakling."
"Only when the temperature is involved," she grinned, not denying it.
When the dryer finally beeped for the last time, Misty grinned in excitement, taking all of her clothing and rushing upstairs to change. "We're home!" Kankuro called, walking in the front door with Gaara.
"Good, dinner is almost ready," Temari stated.
"Let me just put my puppets away."
"So how were things at the office, Gaara?"
"Uneventful, just assigning missions," he answered in a monotone voice, removing his robes and hanging them up, along with the hat. "I'll be right back."
The Kazekage made his way up the stairs, before a descending pair of footsteps drew his attention up. "Oh, hey, Gaara," Misty greeted.
The redhead nearly fell over in shock. Instead of the usual ninja uniform the Water Ninja wore where nearly every inch of her body was covered, she was wearing something very revealing. Gaara could clearly see her long, smooth, pale legs, thanks to the loose short shorts, tank top collar swooping low to show just enough cleavage. The girl's black hair was pulled up into a high ponytail, accenting her stunning facial features.
The Kazekage hadn't realized he was staring until Misty pressed the back of her hand against his forehead. "Are you feeling alright? You're a little red."
The comment only made the teen blush tenfold, forcing himself to look away and compose himself. "I'm fine," he stated, surprised his voice didn't falter.
"Gaara-?"
He quickly pushed past her. "I'll be down in a bit."
Misty cocked a brow, watching the Kazekage disappear down the hall into his room. Shrugging her shoulders, the teen walked into the kitchen. "Something on your mind?" the blonde asked, putting food on their plates.
"Is there something wrong with your brother?"
"Kankuro?"
"No, Gaara."
"Not that I know of, why?"
"He was acting a little weird on the staircase is all." Temari turned to answer but instead busted out laughing. "What?"
"I think I know what was bothering him," she spoke between giggles.
"Do enlighten me."
"Well, have you seen what you're wearing?"
Misty glanced down. "And?"
"You're so dense! You went from where everything to next to nothing!"
"Shit!" a voice came from the doorway of the kitchen. Both girls turned to see Kankuro, staring wide-eyed at the Water Ninja, jaw slack. "What the hell brought this on?"
"I rest my case," Temari smirked.
Misty's face turned as red as a cherry in response. "A-Alright, I'll change. But it was hot out! And this is the outfit you picked out, Temari!"
"I have no idea what you're talking about," the sister smirked, turning back to the food.
The girl grumbled, turning away and heading upstairs to change into something more appropriate. Gaara was coming out of his room, dressed in black pants and a shirt, when Misty was passing by. Both paused, looking at each other. "S-Sorry... I'm just going to change."
"Why?" Gaara asked, glancing over her quickly.
"Your brother is a pervert." Something flashed in the Kazekage's eyes, but the girl shrugged. "Figured I better change-"
The ninja was suddenly pressed against the wall, a cool pair of lips covering her own. Misty's eyes widened, staring at the redhead in shock. When Gaara pulled away, he stared at her, caressing a cheek with a thumb. "I like the way you look." The teen blushed. "But like you said, Kankuro is a pervert." Misty giggled, making him smirk before kissing a cheek. "I'll see you at dinner."
The Water Ninja grasped his hand, kissing the Kazekage on the lips again. "See you at dinner," she stated, grinning. Misty then turned around and walked off down the hall towards her room again.
Gaara couldn't help but stare after her. He'd have to ask the Land of Water to send the ninja to Suna more often, since it was much too cold there for her to wear that kind of clothing. Much too cold indeed.
