Lily's P.O.V"You ready Lils?" Jasmine asked me while tucking a stray hair behind her ear. She had one hand firmly clasped in her daughter, Molly's, hand, and the other hand was clasped around a bouquet of white lilies. This was making the task of removing the stray hair from her face rather difficult. Once she had removed the hair from her face, I saw her pass a hand across her stomach absentmindedly, stroking the spot where a small bump was already beginning to show.
I smoothed down the front of my dress. "As ready as I'll ever be," I smiled back as I felt my dad squeeze my hand from his spot beside me.
I was standing behind the tall oak doors of the small church, waiting for my cue to enter. My heart was thudding violently in my chest but I wasn't scared of the commitment I was about to make. I was scared of tripping over the waterfall of white sating flowing around me. I take another look down at my wedding dress. Jasmine and I had searched all of London for it, starting at designer shops before realising that the small boutiques in hidden corners were the true home to some of the most beautiful dresses on the planet.
My wedding dress for Jason and been stuffed in a box a long time ago and was long forgotten in the attic of my parents house. The dress I wore today was new. I had taken one look at it and knew in a second that it was the perfect dress for me. It felt right to be wearing this dress. I didn't feel out of place like I had so many years ago.
The dress was pretty much the complete opposite to what I had worn with the intention of marrying Jason. With a bateau neckline and three quarter length sleeves, the top of the dress was made of white lace and fitted perfectly. The cream ribbon which was wrapped around my waist, made the dress flow gently down my body before eventually hitting the floor. The bottom half of the dress had a tulle overskirt giving a delicate finish. Danielle had opted for me to wear a pair of Jimmy Choo wedding shoes but I had declined, knowing I would most likely fall flat on my face if I combined these with buckling knees. Instead, I had gone for a pair of dainty heels which seemed like the safest thing to do.
My hair had been swept into a complicated up do and a flowing veil had been clipped in with a diamond encrusted hair comb. My shaking hands smoothed down the front of my dress before moving onto the veil. I couldn't help but fidget.
Suddenly, the sound of a piano filled the church hall and reached my ears despite the large brown doors. My heart instantly sped up when I realised that it was almost my cue to enter. My anxious eyes immediately went to my father who had my arm safely tucked under his. "No running of this time, you hear?" he asked me with a chuckle.
I breathed a nervous laugh back in reply at his remark to my almost wedding over five years ago. My dad was always one to try and make me laugh when nerves were trying to get the better of me. His joke slightly calmed me down, not by much though.
I watched as Jasmine sent my god daughter Molly through the doors and into the church as well as Danielle and Liam’s daughter, Rhea. Molly's hair was just as blonde as both of her parents and her younger sibling, who was still inside her mother’s belly, was most likely going to be just as blonde as the rest of its family. Little Molly hurried into the church excitedly, her flower girl shoes colliding softly with the floor every step she took. Rhea followed behind her at a steady pace, taking her flower girl duties much more seriously than the blonde child.
