It's the night of Ezra's rehearsal dinner...

My mouth stands agape as Sofia drops a bombshell on everyone.

"Ezra and Y/N are having an affair!" Sofia cries out.

Ezra glares at her, "Sofia! What are you doing?"

"Oh my!" Dianne gasps.

"Ezra, this is not Fitzgerald behavior." Mason Senior glares at Ezra.

Paolo scoffs, "It's not surprising. Women have a knack for getting involved where they don't belong."

I look around helplessly, feeling like the walls are spinning around me as I try to keep up. "But Sofia is sleeping with Robin!"

"Oh my!" Dianne gasps.

"That explains the hickey, at least." Tony grins

Sofia scrambles to cover her throat as Ezra whips his head around, glaring at Robin. "Is this true? After everything we've been through?"

Robin frowns, "Well, I—"

Sofia gasps, "Wait, Ezra drove me into the arms of another man! None of this is my fault!"

"Poor thing..." A guest murmured.

"Sofia... Stop lying. You're as much to blame here as anyone else. And no one drove you to cheat. You did that all by yourself." I glare at her.

"As did you." Sofia glares back.

"Sounds like Y/N's the homewrecker..." Another guest glares at me.

"Leave Y/N alone!" Ezra barks back. "She wasn't the one who betrayed Sofia. I am."

A white flash from the other side of the room blinds me briefly. I look around frantically for the source. "What was that!?"

I spot the wedding photographer nearby lowering her camera with a shrug. "Sorry, but I can make way more off these pictures than what I'm getting paid for the wedding."

Mason Senior storms over. "I don't think so. Hand over the camera before I call security."

"Why? Don't want your son exposed for the cheater he is?" Paolo retorts.

I got jostled in the crowd, pushing me toward the back of the room. "Ezra?"

"Y/N!"

Somehow through the chaos, the two of us stand don't he opposite sides of the table from each other, worlds apart...

Just as the din reaches a fever pitch, I feel someone tug on my arm from behind. I spin and stumble against Carter's chest.

"I got you, Ms. Y/L/N." He says reassuringly.

"Carter! Thank god!" I cling to his arm.

"Come, let's get you out of here. This bedlam is no place for a lady." He furrows his eyebrows.

"What about...?" I look over my shoulder... But I can't even see Ezra through the crowd anymore. "Never mind. Let's go."

I lock my door as soon as I get back to the villa. I immediately collapse on the bed and put in earplugs. I'm pretty sure I don't want to hear if anyone knocks on my door... Or worse, if no one does.

Early the next morning, I woke up before the sun and booked the earliest flight back to New York. It doesn't take long for me to pack the remainder of my items.
