Warning: ANGST!

Y/N opened one of the double doors that led to the main hallway of Beacon Hills High. She immediately saw students coupled up. The girls dressed in pink and red, or a combination of both colors. They each had a huge smile on their faces after getting some sort of Valentine's gift. Y/N rolled her eyes as she saw some of the guys' lockers decorated for the jolly holiday.

She spun the dial on her locker before opening it up. She took a step back as she saw a heart shaped box filled with chocolate candy. She furrowed her eyebrows together, wondering who could have left her candy. Was it a mistake? Or worse, was it some sort of cruel prank?

The sound of someone clearing their throat caused Y/N to jump. She placed her hand above her racing heart before turning around to see Theo smiling at her with that stupid devilish smirk of his on his handsome face. He had a dozen beautiful red roses in his hands. Suddenly, it clicked. Y/N knew the candies were from Theo.

"You should know, I never do this. Clearly, you're pretty special to me," he said as he handed her the roses.

She pushed the roses back to his chest, grabbed the box of chocolates and shoved them to his chest as well. "I'm allergic to chocolates."

Theo was about to apologize as he had no idea she was allergic. He would have gotten another type of candy.

"And roses," she added.

Theo rolled his eyes as he realized she was being sarcastic. He finally noticed she was wearing all black. She wasn't exactly one to dress up for the holiday like the rest of the girls in school right now, but he also wasn't expecting her to look like she was about to attend a funeral.

"Come on," he took a step back as she slammed her locker door. She ignored him and started walking towards her first class. He followed her. "Baby, why are you acting this way? I got you-"

"You know," she spun on her heel so quickly, Theo almost crashed into her. "You don't know how to make a girl feel special if you're out making out with Tracy and flirting with Hayden."

Theo smirked. "Someone jealous?"

"Actually, yes," she said without any hesitation. "I really liked you. I broke down my walls and let you in. I know we didn't exactly have a title, and I didn't expect one from you, but I also wasn't expecting you to play with my feelings and play these stupid games. This isn't what I signed up for."

"Y/N-"

She shook her head as she walked backwards. "Roses and chocolates aren't going to fix this between us. Enjoy your Valentine's gifts or better yet, go hand them out to one of your other girls. I'm sure they'll love it."

Theo felt something he hadn't felt before. His heart broke as he watched her walk away. He was hoping she would look back at him at some point, giving him any sign of hope, but she didn't. He had never spent this holiday with any girl. It wasn't his style. Except, he wanted to, with Y/N. To him, she was special, he just happened to fuck up; like he always does.

He stood in the hallway with a dozen roses, a box of chocolates, and a broken heart. This was not exactly how he thought he would spend Valentine's Day.
