(Y/n), an artist yearning to have a new start away from the chaotic city life, moved to the ever peaceful Qingce village. Although it serves as the place for retired villagers, there are still few individuals who also wanted to escape the city life. Besides, being an artist means you have to adjust to the ever growing trends within your vicinity.
Right now, you can't even bring yourself to paint without staring blankly on your white canvas.
You drop your bags with a thud! as soon as it hits the wooden floorboards with dust flying in the air. Somehow, the community leader gave you a small cottage that wasn't cleaned for a long time. She said the owner of the cottage went to venture on their own and did not come back after years of waiting for them.
Fortunately, you arrived in your shelter before the rain could pour. It said that during this time, Qingce village would experience downpours every now and then. Granny Ruoxin advised everyone to stay indoors and keep distance away from the waters due to a small chance of the current overflowing.
"I'll search for inspiration tomorrow, for now.." your eyes glanced around the dusty room. "I need to clean"
No wonder Granny Ruoxin gave you a feather duster and broomstick. There's no 'rest' in your vocabulary, rather, you push your sleeves up and begin cleaning the whole cottage until it's dirt free. Even if the downpour is getting heavier with gusts of wind violently echoing throughout the village, you felt serenity and peace upon clearing the dirt in your sanctuary.
With a soft sigh, you collapsed on the bed. Although the granny gave you some necessities such as a clean pillow, covers and blankets, somehow the naked bed reminds you of your blank canvas.
"Now what?" You ask yourself, pondering whether you'd go back to work or rest after doing some cleaning. However, your eyes fall towards a kettle which seems brand new. "I thought this cottage was abandoned, how come the kettle is glistening?"
Come to think of it, most of the kitchen tools are also brand new. Porcelain plates line up the cupboards, dirt free with matching silverware tucked inside the drawers. Although the stove in the kitchen counter is rather small with only one burner on top, there are no signs that the kitchen in this cottage is abandoned unlike the other rooms. You decided to ask the village leader for answers but your restless mind needs to wait before the rain stops.
"I guess I'll get to work then"
Setting up your easel was rather easy since the friendly consultant in the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor gave theirs. He only said that they wouldn't need it and instead of throwing it away, it could be of greater use by giving it to the aspiring artists in Liyue. As a matter of fact, you didn't know the kind gentleman's name since he suddenly disappeared when you accepted the gift.
The white canvas stared at you, as if beckoning you to come closer and glide your paintbrush to stain the field with color. Your eyebrows furrowed upon thinking of a subject to paint and nothing seems to be coming into your mind. Your shoes clicked against the wooden flooring when you started walking back and forth, still thinking of what to paint.
