Yelling and self destructive thoughts.“You betrayed me Tubbo!” Tommy yelled, hitting Tubbo with his axe.
“That is just not true!” Tubbo replied, blocking the attack and unleashing his own.
“You did, you did, you betrayed me! This is what Wilbur wanted, he wanted you to betray everyone! And you did exactly that!” Tommy spat as he continued to battle his friend.
“No, you betrayed everyone-”
“I didn't betray anyone; you exiled me, you left me to die!” he interrupted Tubbo mid-sentence.
“You teamed up with the very person who destroyed our nation, you teamed up with Technoblade!”
“You betrayed me,” Tommy said as he stopped fighting for a second.
“I didn't betray you, you teamed up with-”
“I WENT FOR THE DISCS TUBBO, TUBBO THE DISCS, THE DISCS WERE WORTH MORE THAN YOU EVER WERE!” At that Tubbo froze. His body went numb. He ignored the gasps and looks of horror that beamed down on the pair. He just felt empty. Tommy quickly realised what he said but it was too late. Tears streamed down both boy’s faces, one still had visible anger rising from him, and the other one was shattered. A thin rubber band that had been stretched to the limit, countless times, was now left broken.
“Tubbo I-” Tommy started but never finished as Tubbo leapt through the wall of water. He wiped his tears on the back of his hand and kept running. Sobbs engulfed his whole body but he didn't stop. The cries behind him begged for him to come back yet he ignored them all. He just ran. He ran into the nether portal and collapsed on the other side. The brunette picked himself up and continued to run.
Finally he made it to his destination. He’d barely made it inside the walls of his jungle base before his legs gave out. Tears fell quickly as he sobbed into his hands. Was that really what Tommy thought of him? Was he just the side character that was thrown around and never cared for by anyone? Did anyone care? Surely not. This couldn't be happening.
He thought about every single detail of the fight. From the way Tommy's expression changed, to the way the water flowed over the rubble of the community house. Was he really that worthless? Everyone he'd ever trusted had just gone and told how much of a failure he was. They always looked on the negative side rather than the positive side. Tubbo had done plenty of good things, not just for the country, but for his friends. Surely they didn't think that badly of him right?
The rustling of the grass next to him alerted him of someone's presence. He couldn't be bothered looking up to see who it was. Instead he just sat in silence. Well, almost silence. The quiet howls of the wind and the occasional sniff was what prevented the bliss of complete silence from becoming reality.
"Tubbo? You know I don't hate you right?" The low voice belonged to the memory boy.
"I'm not sure anymore Ranboo. Everyone seems to have a reason. You may as well just follow the crowd," Tubbo said in defeat.
"I can't find one."
"Huh?"
"You heard me; I can't find one."
"Find what?"
"A reason to hate you."
"Well you clearly aren't looking hard enough."
"Tubbo stop. This is a horrible mindset for you to have."
"What other mindset can I have! My best friend doesn't care anymore, no one cares anymore, and I'm not even sure they ever did," Tubbo broke. Tears spilled over his already red stained cheeks.
Ranboo didn't say anything. Except he embraced the smaller. Tubbo clutched onto Ranboo as though his life depended on it. It probably did. If Ranboo wasn't here then Tubbos mental state would've deteriorated quickly and he might not have been around any longer. He still didn't want to be around.
"Everyone hates me," Tubbo whispered.
"I don't. Tommy doesn't hate you either, he got caught in the moment and said some things he should never have said. I'm sure you did as well. But Tommys really short tempered so he snapped quicker. It's what happens when you're in a situation like that. And Dream, well, Dream hates everyone."
Tubbo smiled at that last bit, "he does, doesn't he?"
"Mhm," Ranboo confirmed.
Nothing much was said after that. Ranboo still held Tubbo in a tight hug, while the shorter one cried his worries away. Well, mostly.
"Thank you Ranboo," Tubbo mumbled into the half endermans chest.
"Hey it's fine. Do you wanna go home now?"
"Yeah," he replied sleepily.
"Let's get you home then," Ranboo said as he scooped up Tubbo and started the trek to Snowchester. The brunette dug his head into Ranboos chest and got comfortable as they walked to the snow biome.
Once they arrived Ranboo glanced down to find a sleeping Tubbo. He smiled and placed him down on the bed.
"You deserve all the happiness in the world."
