"I'm so proud of you guys" My mom crying pulling Elena and I in for a hug. Sam smiling in his suit. Looking up through his hair at Elena.
People gathered outside the building, smiling and taking pictures with each other. Elena jumped up and down in excitement when my mom pulled out her camera.
"Smile girls!" Holding the camera up.
Sam jumped in quickly wrapping an arm around Elena, hip checking him before grinning at the camera. Mom continued snapping photos, some of them serious. Other's of Sam having me jump on his back smiling from ear to ear.
"That's enough I think" Laughing out as I slumped against Elena. Thoroughly tired of getting my picture taken.
"Mind if we take one more?" A cool smooth familiar voice came from behind me. My mom's eyes grew as she looked back at me, allowing me to answer.
Sam looked at Talon with a mixture of hate and curiosity. Elena was nodding like a psychopath.
Nodding softly, his warm hand slid behind my back. Holding me close to his side, trying my best to audibly sigh from his touch.
My mom raised the camera.
I smiled for the picture.
You've been gone an awful long time. Thinking to myself quietly.
"Wanted to give you your space" He replied softly through my head, the sound of his voice through me sent a wave of chills. I've missed that voice.
"Let me in!" Joseph boomed from behind me. Elena eyeing him carefully as he took the other side of Talon. Grinning as my mom's watched him. Something flashing I couldn't quite understand as she snapped a few more pictures.
Mom lowered her camera with a polite smile, but eyes still on Joseph. Who was quick to step forward with an outstretched hand.
"Joseph, Miss" His southern charm causing her to blush with a small smile.
"Marianne" Putting her delicate hand in his large one.
I watched them closely, glancing to Sam to see if he was seeing what I was seeing.
"Can we talk?" Talon whispered softly in my ear.
Nodding nervously as he walked us away from the large groups of people. Standing below a large tree, shading us from the sun.
Leaning my back against the bark of the tree, fidgeting with the sleeve of my gown. Both of us quiet as Talon paced slowly back and forth, his eyes meeting mine before shifting away quickly.
"Did you always know I've had Nephilim in my blood? Before I even met you?" Whispering softly as I stared at my toes.
Talon stopped in mid step. Turning to face me with a with an expression I couldn't read as I met his dark emerald orbs. His hair was slicked back but his eyes looked tired, there was light stumble forming around his jaw.
He looked like hell, still ungodly hot. But looked rough.
His mouth twitched with a smirk, hearing my thoughts. Making me blush, but keeping my eyes on him as I waited for his answer.
"I did"
"Why didn't you tell me?" Replying quickly. "You could have told me before Markus"
Running a hand through his disheveled hair. "I wasn't sure how to tell you. And when I realized it was why Markus was after you" Pausing as regret filled his glossy eyes. "I thought it would be better to tell you after"
"You were wrong" Crossing my arms. "Is my brother the same as me?"
"I know, and I'm so sorry for not telling you" Bowing his head. "And no, it's just you"
"Are the other angels mad about you interfering with my life or the fact that I'm an abomination" Hissing out the last part.
"Both" His voice dropping lower. "But they are wrong. You are not an abomination. You are perfect"
Pausing, leaning off the trunk of the tree, taking a step closer. "Is there anything else you're not telling me?" Sliding my bangs away from my face.
His eyes lifted through his dark lashes. "I really like the hair"
My face heated up the way his eyes looked me up and down.
"I'm serious" Ignoring the warmth in my cheeks.
"I swear, there's nothing else" His long legs stepping cautiously closer, now only standing a few inches away from me. My heart raced in my chest as I dropped my hands slowly to my sides.
"You can't lie to me anymore. Never again" Dropping my head, biting my bottom lip, my throat tightening. "Talon, you can't keep secrets from me"
His warm hand inched toward my face, grabbing my chin softly making me look up at him. I wanted to move closer, close the distance but I remained still.
"I will spend eternity making it up to you" Watching his lips inch closer, that familiar flip in my lower belly as I watched his eyes.
Moving my hands slowly to his graduation gown. Pulling him closer, keeping our gaze locked.
Our mouth's connected, his warm hands snaking around my waist. His warm lips fitting perfectly to mine as I moaned into his mouth. His hands lifting me off the ground, wrapping my hands around his neck in death grip, missing his arms. His minty fresh scent, the feeling of his full lips melting into mine. His own groan filling me as I gasped for air, shoving my head into the crook of his neck. Unable to let him go.
"What's next Angel?" Murmuring against my ear.
Pausing, looking back toward my mom, the group of them smiling and chatting but definitely watching us.
"How's New York sound to you?" Asking softly. Releasing my hold slowly, falling back to ground on the balls of my feet. "I got accepted for internship at a publishing company" Information I still needed to announce to everyone else.
"Are you inviting me with you?" Smiling down at me, his dimple in his cheek deepening.
"If you're willing to spend eternity making it up to me, you might as well come along" Smirking up at him as nodded with a knowing smile.
Bowing his head softly.
"Eternity it is" Pulling me to his lips sealing it with a deep kiss.
