i woke up to an empty bed. i was a little disappointed but assumed he was probably hanging out with our friends. i mustered up enough energy to get out of bed, throwing my legs over the side. i stretched and put my slippers on, heading towards the bathroom to brush my teeth.

i grabbed the first tee shirt i saw and the shorts i was wearing last night. guess it was one of colby's band tees.

afterwards, i went downstairs, walking into the living room. colby and lennon were sitting on one of the love seats, laughing at something. i felt a little pang in my heart. i knew there was probably nothing going on but i was a little jealous that he was down here, talking to my sister while i was laying alone in bed.

"morning." i smiled as they both looked my way, colby doing a double take. i'm assuming over the fact that i'm wearing his shirt.

"happy thanksgiving." len smiled, colby staying silent. okay then.

"happy thanksgiving." i smiled back, going to sit in the recliner.

"i'm gonna go help mom with breakfast. i'll be back in a few." lennon said, leaving the room. i got up from the recliner, going to sit where she just was.

"missed you when i woke up." i mumbled, leaning into him.

"ashton, anyone could walk in right now." he said. all i did was lean into him? what the hell is his problem?

i rolled my eyes, getting off of the couch. i knew this was too good to be true.

"don't you walk away from me ashton." he said, grabbing my hand and pulling me into his lap.

"make up your damn mind, colby." i said, going to stand again but he held me back.

"i'm just saying that we need to be careful. we need to take this slow and do it in private. i want this done right. we can't mess this up, baby." he said, placing a kiss in my hair.

"what were you and lennon talking about?" i asked him.

"you didn't hear it from me but shes got a crush on corey." he laughed.

"oh god." i laughed. "now let me go before anyone catches us."

-

"how old is she?" colby asked me. we were sitting on the floor with anna and finn's daughter, vienna. we'd eaten dinner and now everyone was getting ready to go into the hot tub. i had my bikini on under my clothes so i offered to watch vie

"one and a half." i smiled. vie looks so much like him that it's crazy.

"she looks like him." he said.

"hmmm?" i asked, peeling my attention from vie to look at him.

"like finn. there's a bunch of photos of him hung up... she looks just like him. i can't imagine how hard that is on anna." he said.

"i can't imagine. anna was in the crash with us. it was awful. finny didn't even get to tell us she was pregnant... they were going to tell us all the following week once they had a sonogram." i said.

"how old was he? anna can't be that old."

"he had just turned twenty-one. i was eighteen. anna was only nineteen, and zayn was twenty."

"i'm so sorry for you, ashton." he mumbled, kissing my temple. we were on vie duty while anna got a shower and got ready to go to the hot tub.

colby was absolutely adorable with the little girl. she loved him. finn wouldve loved this little girl with everything in him.

watching colby play with vienna, a few tears rolled down my face. finn deserves to be here and to meet his daughter. she's growing up without her daddy. it's not fair.

colby must've noticed the change in the room and he looked over at me, the smile falling from his face.

"you okay, ashton?" he asked me.

"no." i said, laughing through the tears. "i just feel for her. she's never gonna get to meet her dad." i mumbled into his chest.

"she'll be okay, love." he said, holding me. we didn't say anything for a while after that. he just held me and simultaneously played with vienna.

boy was i falling for him.

-

"you look so hot right now." colby groaned into my ear, trying not to make us look suspicious. i stifled a laugh, looking down at my red bikini. i think colby has a thing for red.

"as do you." i said in a fake formal accent, making him laugh.

in the hot tub, i was sitting in between colby and tara. corey and lennon weren't even being discreet with their flirting.

we had a nice thanksgiving dinner just a few hours before so my swimsuit wasn't looking as hot as it could, but colby didn't seem to care, or even really notice.

we would be going black friday shopping in just a few hours but here we were, chilling in the hot tub.

i listened to their conversation about why they think that people shouldn't eat salads. after all, it's like eating rabbit food. i laughed and threw in some funny little comments here and there, but for the most part i just sat back enjoyed my time with my friends and family.
