Rose Tinted:

Yin Ting blinked before she finally responded.

She started laughing.

She was wearing pyjamas wrapped in a house coat. He was well dressed in a suit but had a fat cat wearing flowery clothes. He looked so discordant.

Yin Ting laughed till she was teary-eyed. She reached out and took Miao-dada from him. She buried her face in his furry neck.

He said he would improve next time. And this was his improvement.

It was too fast.

Yin Ting laughed till she cried. But she felt that it was not funny at all. How to describe the mood? She could not even think of suitable adjectives.(Zuben: Sexy? No? I dunno then.)

The well dressed man complained, ‘Aren’t you supposed to be holding me?’

Yin Ting laughed more, her shoulders shaking.

‘Well you have no hands now, so I’ll do the holding.’ He said and took her, cat and all, into his arms.

She buried her face in his chest and sniffed hard; he was the best, most serious, most unconventional man she’d ever met.

‘You haven’t answered yet.’ Zhengqing asked, still seeking her reply.

She looked up at him, his eyes were beautiful, focused and enchanting.

She sniffed and laughed, ‘I’m not going to talk about this at my doorstep in my pyjamas.’

‘So I can come in, shut the door and you go and change.’ He suggested seriously.

Yin Ting laughed again, the emphasis was not on this. But she showed him in. She had to put Miao-dada in the box because she didn’t want her dad’s allergies to act up. And she felt a little guilty.

‘How did you think of this?’ She asked curiously. She guided him to a sofa and sat beside him.

‘It just came to me suddenly,’ he replied, ‘There was no reason, I was lying on my bed and I suddenly wanted you there. I wanted to be married to you. I wanted you to be my wife. The idea felt nice.’

‘What did you feel?’ she asked with a pointed stare.

‘I felt like you were next to me.’ Zhengqing answered with a serious expression. Then he looked at Yin Ting’s expression asked, ‘You think my thoughts were crooked again?’

She chuckled and grabbed his arm hiding her face in his sleeve.

‘Miss Yin Ting,’ he said in a very proper tone, ‘As a man of marriageable age with a beautiful girlfriend; don’t you think it is impossible to have no evil thoughts? Therefore, you also have to act charitably, don’t tease him all day.’

‘Where have I?!’ She exclaimed, her face blushing. ‘I had always thought you were an honourable gentleman,’ she teased. Zhengqing’s expression turned ill-humoured.

‘Hao, hao, I am very proper.’

Yin Ting looked at him for a few seconds but could not keep a straight face, she grinned broadly and jumped into his arms.
