Kevins POV
I walked toward the plane and Mom pulled me back, hugging me tightly. "I can't live another year without you!" She yelled at me. I hugged and kissed her cheek, I took the rosary out of my military uniform. "I'll be home before you know it." I shook Dad's hand and kissed Eden's curls, giving Sierra a hug.
Mom hugged me again and I patted her hair, she prayed with me and I smiled, letting her hand go and saluting my higher rank. "Welcome back!" He said loudly, I boarded the plane and saw Dex. I shook his hand and sat down with him next to all the cargo. "How are you buddy?" I asked. He smiled, "Good. I just wanted to go back to Pakistan so bad. We gonna finish this!" I high fived him, "Hell yeah!"

Callie's POV
I saw how weak Brandon was getting as he put his arm around Sierra and kissed his daughter. I smiled faintly. At the end of the day, it wasn't my happiness I was content of. It was his. "So Brandon, you working today?" I asked him, catching up to him. "Yeah, I have things to take of. Wanna come?" He asked me and I nodded. "I think it'd be a perfect way for you both to bond." Sierra said to us, "You can go in Callies car and I'll take Eden home." Brandon kissed her lips passionatley, taking in her scent and he waved at her.
I turned my car on and he got in. His knees seemed fragile and his arms were too skinny. He was still buff and looked like he worked out but he was pale and scrawny in some areas. He coughed loudly into his hand, "You should get that cough checked out." I said laughing. He told me where to go and I drove. "This cough ain't nothing." He assured me. We were both silent for a while until I asked him. "So you like this James boy?"
Brandon nodded. "He's A King, B. That's so dangerous for her." I say. "This means more protection for us and her. We need this, stop worrying about yourself for one minute and just think about how good this benefits us!" He screamed at me. "You promise she won't get hurt?" He scoffed with a laugh, "I have no idea what his intentions are with Blue but I know they aren't bad... He's a honest kid no matter what Gang he's in." I pursed my lips, "Make a right." I turned the curb and stopped the car in front of a pawn shop.
"This is a pawn shop.." I told him. "Stay here," he got out of the car and entered the place. I scrolled through my phone and saw her name bright up on my phone, I hesitated to call her but I did. "Hello?" She answered. "Blue..." I whispered, "Hello, mother." She sounded angry. "I wanna have James for dinner, if that's okay with you." I say. "Dinner? Sure. We'll be there at 9." She hung up and I got out of the car, looking through the pawn shop window.
I didn't see Brandon. I went in and saw a woman sitting behind the counter, "Ma'am, did a man walk in here? Tall, brown hair, wearing a red collared shirt?" She continued to flip through her magazine, ignoring me. "Ma'am!" I spat, banging my hand on the glass table. She looked up at me and raised her eyebrows. "What?" She answered. "A man... Did he walk in here?"
She shook her head, "Nope.." She looked down again at her magazine. Someone walked out from the back room and saw my face, "Why didn't you let her in?!" The guy yelled at the lady reading the magazine. "I don't know who that hell that is!" She screamed, "That's Callie Jacobs!" He screamed back, he had a thick spanish accent. Puerto Rican. She ignored him, "Come back here.." He took my hand and kissed the back of my hand, "I'm Ricky Villalobos." He winked at me and I blushed.
"Nice to meet you.... Villalobos? Are you related to--" He snorts in laughter and smiles at me, "Yes.... Ricardo Villalobos is my big brother. And since he's practically dating your sister in law, Lily... Doesn't that make us family?" I shake my head. "No.." I laugh. He takes me toward the back and I see all the guys. Brandon is smoking a blunt and passing it around, "Work?" I laugh at him. "Yeah." He coughs loudly and drinks his beer. "How could you let a princess like this go?" Ricky laughed, the rest of the guys snickered. Ricky played with my short, curly hair. "I ask him that everyday.." I said. Brandon blushed. "BACK TO WORK!" A big heavy man walked in. Everyone took their positions and packed up the drugs, moving it toward the back of the room, setting them in boxes.
"Where do the boxes go?" I asked Ricky. "Spring Valley. The Kings headquarter." I rolled my eyes and thought of Blue's new boyfriend. "I actually have to get back to the house, Brandon.. I've decided to have dinner with James and Blue." Ricky laughed, "Wait... James? Cali King James? James Jefferies?" I nodded and Ricky's mouth hung open a bit.
"Your daughter is dating the Cali King?" Brandon lit a cigarette while he packed the drugs and moved them to the back of the room. "He's a good friend of mine." Brandon said, "Why?" I looked at him. "You got your hands full with that boy." He snickered under his breathe, in a happy manner. I looked at him. He looked back at me. "Ricky! Take Callie to the the car." Brandon orders. "How are you getting home?" I asked him, "Goodbye, Cals." Be chimes and I leave the pawn shop.
"I was thinking.... Maybe you wanna go out for drinks?" Ricky winked at me as I turned my car on. I smiled and blushed, moving the hair out of my face. "Hitting on the bosses ex wife?" I joked. Ricky rested his arm on my car and smirked, smiling at me cutely. Smitten. "Last time I checked... You were single." I laughed and stood. "I'm not looking for a relationship right now, Villalobos but for sure.... You'll be the first guy I call when I want a date." We tease.
Ricky takes my hand and kisses the back of it, making me blush. He then leans forward and kisses my cheek. "A guy would usually make a move and kiss my lips.." I tell him, sort of shocked. "I'm a gentlemen, Callie Jacobs.. So is that a date?" He smiles and we laugh together, "It's a date." I assure him, getting in my car and pulling away from the curb.
---------------
I set the table and served the salad on the plates. Blue came in through the door and we weren't on the best terms so she gave me an awkward hug. James came in wearing a nice dress shirt and jeans. I extended my hand and shook it, I let it go and Blue sat down, I poured James some wine. "James?" He looked up from his plate. "Yes, ma'am." I smiled. "Tell me about you.." I said.
"Well... There isn't much to know about me. I did graduate high school though, I got 48.0 on my SAT scores--" He told me. I raised my eyebrows, I was impressed. "Oh wow! You could've gone to college." I said. He smiled at me, "Yeah.. I could've. I decided to choose my own path and im living a dream." He took a bite from his salad.
I smiled faintly, I was in no position to judge his life style.. Brandon had chosen the same path as him but James was more lethal and dangerous. "What are your plans with my daughter?" I asked him. Blue cleared her throat and James blushed, "Is there something I should know about? Blue?" I asked. "I'm getting married.." She giggled nervously, hoping I would approve.
I stood and so did Blue, ready to protect herself. "I'm happy for you.." I said with a bit of disappointment. James stood and I shook his hand and I kissed her cheek and embraced her strongly. "Are you really?" She asked. "Yeah, my baby's getting married! That's so huge!" I smiled. "You seem like a good man, Brandon was right." James showed his pearly white smile and we drunk more wine, talking about things and I really connected with James, getting to know him more.
They left about 12 in the morning. "Drive safe, please!" Blue kissed my cheek and grasped my hand. "Thanks mom." I smiled and patted her head. "Call Kevin... Ya know, being in war isn't easy and he could really need a friend." I say. She nodded and her hair flipped, leaving my house. "I love you!" I screamed. "I love you too, Mom!" She yelled back.
I had remembered I got Ricky's number, I dialed the number. "Hello?" He answered. "Ricky... Tell me more about the Kings. How far does this chain go?" I asked him, he laughed through the phone. "Oh my dear... There is a lot to know and a lot of danger behind it..." He rasped, "My daughter is marrying this man and I need to know everything about him." I demanded in aggression.
"Of course.. But where do you want me to begin?" He asked, I could feel his breathing. "The beginning. The very beginning..." I said.
