"IT'S been a while since we have this kind of dinner together, right?" said Mrs. Tuan.

Mark nodded, "Thank you for coming to my showcase for this comeback."

"You look really good on the stage just now, buddy!" said Mr. Tuan.

Mark grinned, "Thank you dad."

"So tomorrow you're having shooting?" asked his mother.

"Yeah but in the evening. It's a variety show for our upcoming comeback. But I got practice in the morning. Maybe we can have lunch together or something before I go to the shooting tomorrow," said Mark while munching his food.

Mrs. Tuan put on sad smile, "You must be work really hard all this while, Mark..."

Mark looked at his mother, "Why you look at me like that? Don't worry. I'm okay."

"But Mark... I'm going to ask you something," said Mr. Tuan while put down his chopstick and look at Mark in serious look.

Mark looked at his father waiting for his words.

"Until when are you going to be an idol?"

Mark flinched to hear that unexpected question, "What do you mean?"

Mr. Tuan glanced to his wife, "Well... we've been discussing about this. Your contract is going to end soon, right?"

Mark didn't say anything. His facial expression changed.

"So... why don't you put everything at end then? I mean... leaving this industry."

"But why? Don't you like to see what I'm doing right now? Are you thinking what I'm doing is not enough for my life?" asked Mark.

Mr. Tuan shook his head, "No, Mark. I know you like what you're doing now. I understand how your idol life is meaningful to you. But... let's back to reality. Idol life is not something you can do till you're getting old. You need a real permanent and fixed job to ensure your future."

"I can still stay in this industry as a solo later or... I can be a full time composer and song writer," told Mark. "Don't you believe on what I am capable to do after all this while?"

"I'm not saying that I'm not believing you. You're my son and I always believing you. But please Mark... think deeply about your future. You did enough experimenting in your youth and now is the time you need to choose the real path."

"I'm not experimenting! I know what I did. I worked hard for years to be where I am today. I know that I'm choosing this right path for the rest of my life!" said Mark.

"So you must know that this path is such a risky path to do forever. You're not going to have same stamina like what you have today forever. What if suddenly you got bad injury or something? What if suddenly you got involved in scandal and the industry doesn't want to accept you anymore? Aren't you going to regret your decision?"

He looked to his father, "What you want me to do actually?"

Mrs. Tuan holds to Mark's hand, "Mark... let's join your dad's business. You can still learn how to handle the business."

Mark's eyes turned wider, "Your business?"

Mr. Tuan nodded, "You're my eldest son. I really want to inherit the business to you. Joey will help you too."

Mark smirked, "Wahh... I never expect this. You never ask me to continue your business before and I thought both of us already has clear idea that I'm not interested with that matter. I'm sorry dad. I don't think I can be that common son who inherit his father's business. I have my own way."

Mark then walked away to his room. His half eaten rice just left on the table. He doesn't has any appetite anymore.

MARK scroll his instagram and paused when someone knocked the door.

"Can I enter?" his mother's voice heard from outside.

"Yeah."

Mrs. Tuan appeared while bringing a glass of milk, "Drink this milk before sleep."

Mark just nodded. His mother smiled to him before going to leave but Mark quickly called her again, "Mom..."

"Hmm...?"

Mark hesitated before said, "I'm sorry for earlier. I shouldn't act like a childish boy at this age. I should appreciate the little time for us to sit together for dinner."

His mother smiled to hear that. She sat on his bed beside him before stroked his head, "Sometimes I forgot that you already adult. You still look like my little boy, Mark."

Mark just smile weakly to hear that.

"Mark...you've worked hard for so long to be whom you are now. You've been working hard since your teenage days as a trainee and as an idol. As a mother I feel sorry to see all the struggle you've been going through all this while but at the same time your dad and me are really proud of you."

"I can't be where I am today if not for you and dad. I'm so thankful for that," said Mark.

"We were kind of worry when you're growing up as a boy who has no dream. You're not showing any interest in anything. You do like lot of sports but none of that look like you serious to make it as your dream. Unexpectedly you got casting by JYPE and went to Korea. At that time I expect that maybe you will come back home again few months later as you won't have that interest for so long. But... I was wrong. For the first time in my life I see you were being so serious in what you did. You have no basic in dancing, singing nor rapping but you still take all of that as challenge. I was so shock but at the same time I was really glad. Finally... my son had found his dream."

Mark put down his head. Listening to his mother's story kind of emotional for him as he also thinking back his training days.

"Remember that we had watched your showcase few times during your trainee days? That's the moment, me and your father be like ahh... our son had found his dream. He really fit to be on the stage. Finally you able to debut with your other six members that also already like sons to us. You've found your brothers that have the same dream and goal like you. We really glad for that."

Mark just stay silent. Mrs. Tuan stared at his face, "But Mark... we'll never know what happen in the future. We just worried about you. We want you to have the exact future with the business that your father already runs for years. It's all yours and your siblings anyway. Running the business doesn't mean you can't perform on the stage or write the songs anymore. You still can do all that as side job or your hobby maybe."

"But mom..."

"Like what I said... we will never know what the future is going to happen. Why don't you prepare yourselves for anything? Be real Mark. The world will never treat us easily. You already at your age that you need to rethink again your choice of your life. Your 20s is the age you're going to try anything. Nobody can stop you and you allow to make mistake. But how about at the age of 30, 40, 50 and so on? Where do you think the right place that you supposed to be?" asked Mrs. Tuan.

Mark bites his lips. He took a deep breath, "I'm sorry but... give me some time to think."

Mrs. Tuan stroked his head, "We just want you to know that we want the best for you."

Mark nodded, "I know."

"Okay, then. Don't forget to drink your milk. Goodnight, Mark."

Mark smiled weakly, "Goodnight, mom."
