"At least wait until he's recovered" I heard somebody say

"No how could he be irresponsible"

"Sam"

I frowned for a second

What's going on

Where am I

Am I ...alive?

I opened my eyes slowly but closed them because of the bright light in the room

"He's awake" I heard somebody whisper

I opened my eyes adjusting to the light to find myself lying on a bed in what to seemed like to be .....a hospital room?

The first thing I felt when I opened my eyes was annoyance

I couldn't even die right in a car crash

I looked around to find everyone in the room including Matt's girlfriend Stella

Matt, Stella and Patrick were on the couch while Mom and Dad stood at the foot of the bed

What happened?

Memories flooded my mind reminding me of the harsh reality that I was involved in a car crash

My throat felt dry

"Water" I mumbled

"Get him some water" Father demanded

I noticed he was angry with the tone he used

Every part of my body was screaming in pain but I forced myself to sit up slowly

Mother came to my aid and helped me sit

"What were you thinking?" Father started

I sighed

I guess I was going to be lectured right after waking up from my short death

"Being reckless, driving while drunk isn't how we raised you, when things happen you handle them as a man, you face them head on and deal with them not get alcohol in your system"

I wasn't in the mood for his lectures

I was tired from all this

I needed their help and they didn't give to me, now here he was trying to lecture about how to handle my business

I rolled my eyes

I ignored him

He kept on blabbering and I zoned him out completely done with his nonsense

I just woke up from life threatening sleep, I thought I was going to die and I was happy about it

He was pushing me

The door opened revealing Stella with water in her hands, she walked to me and handed me Tylenol and went back to her seat

"Thank you" I mouthed

I took the tablet and gulped it down with the water

"You should-" my father started

"I asked for your help and you never gave it to me" I started "don't lecture me about how to handle this" I glared at him

"You think this is the right way to solve things?" He asked "getting drunk?" He shouted

"What was I supposed to do when the most important people I'd die for stabbed me in the back"

"Putt-"

"Please calm down Sam" mom put her hand on his shoulder

We glared at each other neither saying a word

He looked away taking out his phone and typed something on it and I heard my phone beep a second later

I frowned

What was he up to now

"I've sent her location" he looked at me "I see you can't function without her and I was wrong to keep her information away from you" he said and walked out mom following behind

Was this his way of apologising?

My father sending me her location wasn't something I was happy about, I'd decided to leave her alone, she made that very clear

I had to delete it before I showed up on her doorstep

"Pass me my phone Pat"

He did as I told him

I unlocked the phone and viewed the text to find out she lived the same hood I lived in

Wow

I looked at the phone in amazement

"She's the one who got here first, she couldn't leave your side not until this morning" Matt said

"She cares about you Nate, I saw it with my own two eyes" Stella said

She cares

They filled me up on what happened while I was asleep

How heartbroken she was at the scene of the accident, how she cried on the phone with Matt and couldn't leave my sight until later this morning

How she mumbled she was glad I was okay

This gave me hope

I decided not to delete the location father sent me, maybe I still had a chance in this

"Who knew" I sighed "that I had to be in a accident to know that she cares about me"

"Love is strange" Matt chuckled snaking his arm around Stella's shoulder

"Your girl is really difficult to find" Stella joked "but she finally showed up on her own"

Even though I was in pain right now, I was glad that she was there with me in my worst moments, I was glad she cares about me more than I imagined

I thank God this happened, now I knew what I was going to do next
