"jade! jade wait!" beck yelled through the halls, the sound echoing as he ran after her. she sped up her walking pace, as he got closer and closer to her.

"jaaaade!" he called after her as she ignored him continuously. chasing her all the way to her locker and standing there panting as she dumped her books into her locker.

"ok..." he panted holding up a finger to give himself a second to breath. she looked at him, unamused, rolled her eyes, slammed her locker, and began to walk away. he grabbed her wrist tightly,

"no wait!" he yelled to her as she turned back to him. she stopped walking away, turning to him and yanking her hand away quickly.

"what?" she replied her eyes shooting daggers into him. what could he possibly need now?

"so this deal... when does it start?" he asked her, regaining his breath and finally standing up straight.

"it started an hour ago when lunch ended." she stated avoiding his eye contact. he sighed

"of course it did" he muttered under his breath. taking a deep breath and biting down on his bottom lip.

"and um does the-" he tried to say but she cut him off.

"oh my fuck how many questions do you have? it's just a stupid bet and it's not that complicated. i'm going to class." she yelled as she turned around and quickly disappeared into the hallways full of students. he stood there speechless. he should've expected this.

he scanned the hallways, his eyes shifting from girl to girl. he couldn't go for someone too easy, or jade would be mad. but if he went for someone too hard, he'd never get her.

he had tried to tell himself to put off asking someone out until after the day ended but he just knew jade was in one of her classes right now trying to find any girl to go out with her. he still wondered why she was so prominent about them both going for girls. not as shocked though, when he truly thought about it.

she wasn't exactly discreet about her opinion. whenever they went to movies she would point out hot women she saw, like megan fox or scarlett johansson. he shrugged it off regularly, but now that he thought about it he really had been blind. he didn't know what she was or who she loved, but he knew at one point she loved him. and that's all he needed to know.

he gave into the temptation and walked up to a girl in the hallway he had seen staring at him earlier. he started with his usual opening line, holding out his hand,

"hi i'm beck" he started out, shooting her a charming smile. she smiled back hesitantly, her eyes shifting away from him. she didn't shake his hand, instead she seemed to be moving away from him.

"h-h-hi i'm courtney" she stammered, taking small steps back from him. he watched the people around him gasp slightly at courtney as he pulled his hand away, evident that she was not going to shake it.

"you're in my surround sound class right?" he asked her as she swallowed.

"i- i- i think" she stuttered looking past him at one of her friends, a terrified look on her face.

"s s sorry i gotta go" were her final words as she ran away quickly to a group of girls, all of them whispering and looking at beck laughing.

weird, he thought, but being the calm person he was, her shrugged it off.

he didn't want to look rude, like he was just trying to get into someone's pants, but he had to beat jade. and if that meant going up to another girl that is what it meant.

"hi i'm beck you might know me actually i think i sit behind you in-" he tried to say after walking up to a girl named phoebe he sort of knew.

"sorry i have class bye" she ran away. just like courtney had.

strange.

maybe it wasn't a day for him? was his hair messed up? did he look weird? was something on his face or his shirt? all possibilities, but he collected himself and walked to class.

his mind was distracted the whole time, whispers circulating the room and stares from all the desks landed on him. maybe people had found out about the bet?

after class he went to his locker, shoving his books in and catching the stare of jade from across the hallway at her locker. she raised her eyebrows at him as he gave her a "look at this" hand symbol. she nodded in fake confidence at him, crossing her arms and leaning against her locker to watch him.

"hi ryn? i'm beck i sit next to you in seventh period?" he started out, trying something sort of new. her eyes widened as she looked up from her locker.

"oh! ummm ya hi beck" she said a sweet, but clearly fake smile plastered across her face. beck looked back at jade, her face unchanged as she continued watching him.

"i was just wondering if maybe you wanted to go see a movie or something one time with me?" he asked holding his breath. for a usually calm, cool, and collected guy, he was freaking out.

"i'm i'm sorry i just wouldn't wanna catch it... but maybe in a month or something once you've.... healed?" she replied as he stood there with a very confused look on her face. he lowered his voice to her,

"healed from what?" he asked her once again. she shifted her feet below her, like she was thinking about the right thing to say.

"you know..." was all she could come up with.

"i really don't know ryn." he whispered back to her. what was so secretive?

"your.... STD" she answered finally before running away from him very quickly and disappearing behind the crowd of students.

his usual smile faded into his mouth hanging open. he was speechless. couldn't even think. he turned back to jade at her locker who biting back a laugh at him as she stood with her arms crossed. his cheeks turning a dark shade of red as he watched her bite her bottom lip to stop from smiling.

"how'd it go?" she asked sweetly as he stormed over to where she was laughing at her locker. her hand trying to cover her mouth as she stifled a laugh. he took a deep breath,

"did you tell everyone i had an STD jade?" he fumed at her as she shut her locker, looking him up and down.

"i didn't tell everyone" she replied before walking away, smiling to herself proudly.
