I planned on updating really soon, but once I got to editing the previous chapters I got so immersed in that, because oh God was my grammar HORRIBLE! I'm sorry y'all had to go through that!
Time passed by real quick in Hogwarts, specially for Hermione Granger, since exams were a piece of cake. And before she knew, she was boarding the Hogwarts Express from Hogsmeade to go back to her house for the vacations. She had shopped for loads of gifts for her friends and family, and she had even got one for Draco.
She wasn't sure when to give it to him, despite the many times they would hang out or see each other. And so she had Draco's gift in her bag when she boarded the train, hoping to hand it over to him. She knew she could just post it, but she wanted to see his reaction.
She sat in the furthest compartment, waiting for Neville and Luna to join her, but they didn't show up. Hermione stood at the door, wondering where they were.
Dean Thomas passed by, and Hermione stopped him.
'Hey, Dean, do you know where Neville and Luna are?' she asked.
'Hi Hermione. Neville had to go early to his home, his grandmother planned vacations. Mr. Lovegood picked Luna up just at the station.'
'Oh, alright, thanks.' Hermione said, feeling a little upset because she was looking forward to spend time with her friends.
Noticing her expression, Dean politely said, 'You can join Helen and me, we're just in the next carriage.'
'It's alright, thank you so much Dean.' She refused, going back to sit in her carriage.
I'll just read a book instead. She said to herself.
The Hogwarts express began to move, and just a few minutes after, there was a knock on the carriage.
Hermione looked up to see Draco standing in front of her, his baggage in hand.
'Hey, Hermione, do you mind sharing a carriage with me?'
'No, no not at all.' Hermione said relieved. Her mind went back to the gift she had brought for Draco.
Draco sat next to her and greeted her with a smile. She felt his thigh brush past her causing her to blush.
'Well...' Draco smiled, scooting even closer, causing heat to rise in her cheeks once more.
'What are you reading about?'
'Cantaloupes.' Hermione told.
'Cantaloupes? What's that?'
'Melons, silly.' Hermione laughed.
'Oh, so they're like, a fruit? I see.' Draco laughed.
'What's so funny?' Hermione couldn't contain the laughter.
'Oh, nothing. I'm just wondering why you'd be interested in melons, out of all the things in the world.' Draco burst into manly giggles.
'Oh shut up, Draco.' Hermione said slipping the book in her bag.
'What's that?' Draco caught sight of the shiny silver wrapping paper tied in a dark green ribbon.
Hermione pulled out the box a size of a mug that she had hand-wrapped with scotch-tape and the colors of the present appealed to Draco greatly.
'Now that you mention it.' Hermione smiled, handing the present over to Draco. 'I got you a very late Christmas gift.'
Draco's eyes were filled with warmth, and a little smile crept up his face. Hermione saw a glimpse of sadness, as if he was gloomy upon receiving it.
'I...' Draco tried to explain. 'I'm just overwhelmed that you got me a present ... ' Draco smiled.
"Well, we're practically dating now, so I'm allowed to get you a gift." Hermione made an attempt to lighten the mood.
'Thank you Hermione.' Draco gave her cheek a soft kiss, after which he proceeded to unwrap his gift.
'You're welcome.' She smiled, watching him fumble around with the wrapping paper, making sure he didn't tear any edge, or rip any piece.
After he was done with the unwrapping, he opened the box and pulled out a small ball like object.
He was amused by it, as he watched small electric impulses respond to his touch and strike purple lightening where his finger-tips caressed it.
Stunned like a baby seeing a Christmas tree for the first time, Draco stared with dilated pupils, watching the lightening embrace his hand shape as he placed it on the orb.
'What is this magic...' Draco asked, amused.
'It's a plasma ball. Muggle stuff, really.' Hermione shrugged.
'It's so - I dunno, amazing.' Draco whispered. 'Muggles working at such objects without magic... brilliant.'
'It's mostly Physics, but I'm so glad you like it.' Hermione expressed.
'LIKE? Hermione, you don't get it. I love it.' Draco put the ball aside and turned over to Hermione, pulling her close by the waist. Hermione was taken aback, as she watched Draco nearing her face and closing his eyes.
She couldn't help it, with her heart beating as fast as it could. She closed her eyes, hoping it would be of help. Despite having Draco kiss her many times, every time she was a close distance near him, Hermione's stomach fluttered.
His lips sweetly met hers, and this time she couldn't help kissing back, her hands travelling to his hair, as his pulled her waist closer.
They felt each other's lips move in union to eachother, their kiss growing passionate, their hearts swelling up with warmth and love.
And just right there, Hermione understood what she felt for Draco. She was falling in love, and it was driving her crazy, because love had hurt her once and she didn't want history to repeat itself.Editing chapters is so entertaining. I'm reading what I wrote and thinking, oh God, why do people even like this? But it's alright because English is not my first language, and you only improve with time.
