Cream's P.O.V
It was the saddest day ever. My mom passed away... due to the hidden enemy... cancer.
"We now lay this soul to rest in peace. We now allow God to take this holy spirit into his arms, to join him up in the Everlasting Heavens where she can be free." Mr. Priest said. I sniffled as the casket was lowered into the ground. Cheese squeaked next to me as I just sat there and watched as my mom was being buried. I choked up, knowing I would never get to see, feel, hold, hug, or spend time with my mom again.
From behind me, I heard my other friends sniff up a bit. I knew Blaze was upset since she and my mom were really good friends. I also knew Mr. Victor was upset since he and my mom were engaged before she knew she had a disease. Everyone was just grieving today. But it still hurt me so badly.
The coffin was soon covered after a long period of time. I sobbed right then and there, letting it all fall out. I was mad, sad, and just lost. "I love you momma..." I whispered under my breath. I felt Cheese try to hug me and cheer me up. "Rest in Peace, Vanilla." Mr. Priest said before bowing his head. Everyone stood there in silence, listening to the rain fall onto our faces. One by one, I noticed everyone was leaving the funeral. But at the same time, nothing could take my eyes off my mom's grave. I sat there, my ears more droopy. I cried silently, my tears mixing in with the rain. "I want you back!" I choked. "Chew Cha Choo Chew!" Cheese chirped and hugged me tightly. Rain poured down harder the longer I just sat there.
I heard footsteps out of the blue before feeling the rain stop falling on my head. I looked up to see an umbrella over me. That's when I looked behind me to see Mr. Shadow holding an umbrella over my head. "M-Mr. Shadow?" I stuttered. "Come on, let's go before you get a cold." he said. But something was stopping me as I turned back to my mom's tombstone that had her name imprinted. "I-I don't want her to be by herself! S-She needs company!" I cried.
"She'll be ok Cream. We can visit her tomorrow. She wouldn't want you to get a cold out here though." he said again. I decided that even grumpy hedgehogs were smart. I stood up, faced her grave one last time before wiping my face. "C-Can I hold your hand Mr. Shadow?" I asked sadly. He gave a small huff before holding out his hand. I grabbed on and let him lead me to wherever he was going. I just hope my mom wouldn't be too lonely.
