Angel didn't just teach Dom that one trick she had done for him earlier. In fact, they got caught up in a long conversation about anything for the following few hours. And eventually they had both fallen asleep in Angel's bed, with the lights still on.
They didn't sleep for long, maybe for three hours, before they got woken up by one of the nurses.
"You guys are getting along well I see."
Both Angel and Dom jumped at the voice, causing the nurse to laugh and walk further into the room, placing freshly washed towels on the corner of Angel's bed.
"We- I-" Angel started, looking at Dom who tried his best not to start laughing. His face almost made her laugh as well and she bit her bottom lip quickly.
"We talked and fell asleep after," Dom explained, and Angel nodded. The nurse raised her eyebrow.
"You two never talk to anyone."
"To each other we do, I guess," Angel said. The nurse smiled and mumbled, "then it was a good decision to put you together. Dominic, you can take a shower and your parents will be here soon after to pick you up."
"Can't he stay for breakfast?" Angel immediately asked the nurse, sitting up in her bed. Dom did the same.
"I'm sorry, sweetheart. His parents will be here soon."
For a moment Angel wondered if she was the only one who didn't want him to go just yet, but then Dom sighed as he stood up from the bed, which said enough.
"Did you like having a roommate, Angel? Because if you want, we can see if anyone new can come and sleep here. If that works better than being alone."
Angel didn't even respond to the nurse's question but instead watched Dom's every move as he grabbed one of the two towels off the bed and ran his hand through his hair before walking to the bathroom that was attached to the room. At least it was something the small room had. It was nice to have an own bathroom.
"We'll find you a new roommate if talking helped."
The nurse ran her finger over Angel's cheek, making her flinch a little. Nurses were used to her flinching though; it was a natural reaction. So she didn't immediately back up.
"I wanna go back to sleep," Angel said, and before the nurse could protest which she certainly did most of the time, Angel pulled the blankets over her head and closed her eyes again.
She heard some muffled voices while her head was underneath the blankets, but it didn't take long for her to fall back asleep. It wasn't even her intention; she was just sad Dom was leaving soon. But she fell asleep before she could say goodbye to him.

Angel got new roommates after Dom, all just within a few days, just because the nurses thought it would help her be able to handle her trauma better because she had people to talk to. But it did the opposite: there was no one who Angel could talk to like she did with Dom. And that always resulted in Angel fighting or completely ignoring her roommate.
So after six days the nurses gave up and let Angel be alone in her room again. She was honestly relieved they did, so when one of them came into Angel's room to tell her she was going to get a roommate again, she immediately protested.
"I wanna be alone."
"I know you do. But you're gonna be okay with this one, I'm sure," the nurse told her, but Angel shook her head.
"I don't want to. I can't do that. I can't-"
She was in the middle of her sentence when Dom showed up in the doorway, followed by someone who had taken him to the room. Her eyes widened immediately.
