Rosalia's POV:
No one really knows. Eris's last comment spins round in my brain when she knocks on the door again. The knowledge that faeries exist shocks me more than it should as I had always held the firm belief that most myths were based on some sort of foundation of truth. Needless to say my sudden introduction to the supernatural world - and that I was allegedly a part of it - has shocked me. I'm dimly aware of Eris's knocking but it's like I can't connect back to reality. Not yet. When the door opens and Eris takes hold of my arm her touch acts as a bolt of lightning and snaps me back to awareness. Stepping through the crack I hear the door shut behind me and Eris.
Turning to look at the room in front of me I notice Ash and Mara stood near each other on one side. The moment I lock eyes with my best friend I run over to her and she pulls me into a hug, both of us terrified of being apart in this hostile environment. Resting my head on Mara's shoulder I bury my face in her hair but can still hear Ash, Eris and Hunter's quiet conversations.
"Why'd you bring her that way Eris someone could have seen you!" I know their whispering but I can still make out every word. Taking Mara's hand behind her back I unintentionally pull us both to sit down. When we've done that I spare her a glance and can see crystal tears shining in her eyes. Leaning against the back of the couch I let her rest her head on my shoulder and I can feel her crying softly. Keeping an ear out for the others' conversation I put an arm around her and use my other hand to keep hold of hers.
"I didn't have a choice. Someone nearly did see us when I went the back way." For all her calm and composed facade, I can see Eris is shaken. Sitting still I can feel when I register Hunter's anxiety through our bond. He seems as perplexed as Eris and I want to know why. "I didn't see who it was and whoever it was had concealed their aura almost entirely. I couldn't tell anything about them from the distance." I sneak a glance in her direction and I see her push her hair back with shaking hands.
Hunter seems to notice and gives her a small smile before his face turned serious again. "That's odd since very few people know the back routes in this place."
"At least that should narrow down who was following the girls," Ash comments, a calculating look in his eyes. "Same with the people following me and Mara."
"Someone followed you two as well?" I intended to keep quiet but that comment piqued my curiosity. All three turn to look at me and raise an eyebrow in expectation of an answer. Looking down at Mara I can see she's managed to fall asleep. Sliding her off my lap I silently stood and went to join the others. "Doesn't that strike you as odd?" I look from one face to another and see that we're all thinking the same thing. Who was following us? And why?
"Did anyone else know about this?" Eris's voice is quiet for some reason. She casts a glance over at the boys who both shake their heads.
"Not from me," Ash replies and Hunter nods. "I'm guessing you didn't tell anyone either and I doubt Rosa went telling someone," He shoots me a pointed look and I glare back. "I'm guessing that's a no from you."
