j- hey what are you doing for new year's eve?
m- hiiii. i'm having y/f and y/o/f over. what are you doing
j- nothing... i was hoping we could spend it together cause you know it's our first one
m- aw you should've told me this earlier but you can come over too
j- really! would your friends be okay with that?
m- yeah i mean they know i wanted to do something with you
j- well good you know ive never met them before
m- oh yeah well i promise you they're nice

"wait so Jonahs coming too?" your friend asks you
"yup and he's really nervous to meet you guys so you have to be nice"
"umm no we don't have to. we want to interview him" your other friend asks
"okay but just like don't scare him away"
once you say this they look at each other and wink
you roll your eyes at this and hear your doorbell ring
checking your phone, you see that Jonah texted that he was there
"oh god he's here please be on your best behavior"
you walk to your front door and open it to reveal Jonah standing holding flowers
"aw Jo! you didn't have to bring me these"
"well i wanted to. happy new year"

you give him a hug and he tries to kiss you but you back away
"no no. no kisses until midnight"
"what! no fair"
"yes it is. that's what you do"
"noooo you can kiss before too"
"well i make my own rules. anyways now you have to meet my friends"
"oh no do i have to"
"yes you do"
you walk Jonah into your house and over to your living room where your friends are
your friends stare at Jonah and look him up and down
"so introduce us" your friend says
"right right. well y/f, y/o/f this is Jonah my boyfriend and Jonah this is y/f and y/o/f my friends"
they all say hi to each other and you have jonah sit down
"so what should we do while we wait for midnight?" you ask
"i want to interview Jonah... you know make sure he's a good fit for our y/n"
"oh god... Jonah do you mind?" you ask
"not at all. what questions do you guys have"
both of your friends take turns asking Jonah different questions about you and your interests and what he likes to do
"okay and last and most importantly... do you love y/n"

"awww baby!!" you squeeze him and he laughs
"so does he pass!" you ask and they nod
Jonah smiles at you and leans in to kiss you however you dodge it
"i told you not until midnight"

it's now 11:30 and while waiting you all watched a few movies and ate food
it was super fun and your friends are really getting along with Jonah
"I can't wait to kiss you in 30 minutes" Jonah says to you
"me too... i've been waiting for your kiss all night"
"hey you made the rule we can't before"
"ugh i know"

"5..4..3..2..1 HAPPY NEW YEAR" you all yell as the clock turns to 12
Jonah pulls you towards him and kisses you
you guys stand there for a few seconds kissing and smiling enjoying the feeling of a new year
"i love you" Jonah whispers to you after you guys pull apart
"i love you more. I can't wait for one more year with you"
"oh trust me baby... we're going to be together for way more than just one more year"
