the door swung open, Janus boots against the floor, as he walked in, setting his bag on the floor next to the kitchen, as he sat down on the sofa, flicking on the lamp, and putting his hand over his eyes with a long sigh, it had been a rough day, Virgil didn't want him in the apartment now, so Janus just decided to crash here, unaware of the horrors this house held.

with a blood-curdling screaming flooding the air, Janus jumped up, fists clenched, to see someone on the stairway, staring. their eyes wide, hair messy, in pastel clothes, and a flower tucked behind their ear.

you leaned against the wall, scrambling to breath, and get away from him as you fell down, you had expected to see Patton, downstairs, his arms open wide, not... this. Janus watching as you tried to steadying your breathing, but it not working, your screams turning into whimpering pants.

"who are you?" Janus asked, standing up and looking at you with so much concern. not noticing the door open. and Patton's shocked face as he saw his brother face looming over his dear one.

"what are you doing?" Patton said, running over as you started crying again, moving and latching your arms around Patton shoulders, digging your face into his neck. Patton quickly walking you up the stairs as you dug your face into his shoulder, crying softer as Patton rubbed your back.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I thought it was you, please... I'm sorry." you wept into Patton's shoulder, as Janus eyes widened, Patton whispering soft things into your ear as you held on tightly, Janus running after. Patton quickly swinging open and door and setting you on the floor inside, before slamming it and turning back to Janus.

"don't tell anybody." Patton said, looking at Janus, as Jan back away slowly, scared as he heard the whimpering of the person in the room, the way Patton's eyes held almost a stony coldness in them.

without warning Janus turned and ran, forgetting everything, bolting towards the door, down the street and sidewalk. Patton running after, calling his name but stopping as he reached the front door, before going upstairs to comfort you.

it's not that Patton wanted to scare you, but it was the best way to keep you out of harms way, associate your fears with people, and your comforts with himself. he didn't want to, but it worked.

with a sigh, Patton opened the door to see you sitting against the wall, still crying. as he kneeled down next to you, running a hand through your hair, an action that used to make you shutter, but now you leaned into for comfort.

"I'm sorry cutie... I'm not mad, you did nothing wrong." Patton comforted, rubbing your cheek softly as you nodded, calming down more, as Patton smiled softly, before standing up and walking to the desk, opening a drawer. he pulled out two different devices walking back towards you with a small smile.
