"But I have a question though?" I asked as I approach Akio.
"Yes?" He asked with a raised eyebrow. I lifted up my hand and pull his stupid face down to my level, not so gently.
"Couldn't you have done this a bit earlier before I bleed to death?" I deadpanned.
"I know, but I couldn't because-." The idiot winched in pain but I ignore that fact and cut his words off.
"Because what?" I snapped at him as I was now an inch away from his face.
"I-It's complicated, okay?!" Akio said as he finally managed to free himself from my grasp. As his hand nursed his ear by rubbing it gently he turned to me with sad eyes. "Also. . . I was scared before. . ."
I looked at him weirdly.
"What are you scared of?" I asked him a little puzzled. "I mean, it wouldn't happen to you technically. I would be the one who will tame the Phoenix."
"I know. . ." The white-haired young adult said. "I also knew this time would eventually come but. . . seeing you. . . I don't want you to go through the same hardship that I had to suffer years ago. . ." He then turned to me with sympathy in his eyes. "In a young age like yourself, I mean. . . a young fellow who has so many potential and a life ahead of her. . . people to care about, a life to live for. . . not to mention you have a mate. . ."
"Akio. . ." I called out to him, to get his attention and stop him to beat the bush so much. "Why can't you just tell me?" Hearing my question, he turned his face away from me, but I was still able to see the unbearable pained expression on him. "Is. . . something wrong. . . ?" I asked with hesitation. After that, silence followed the two of us. But then Akio turned back to me with those sad eyes again.
Then he sucked in a deep breath and told me what's concerning him. . .

[10 minutes before the conversation started between Akio and Miyuki. . .]
The crowd of apparitions was going crazy when Yusuke and Jin walked into the ring. By their reaction, they had been excited to see this fight between the two. What didn't change is their death wish on the male Spirit Detective.
"Lucky eyes ya got." The Wind Master gave his compliment to the Urameshi boy. "Hmpf, must run in the family, I guess." He grinned. The comment did take Yusuke a bit off guard. But then Jin looked up at the audience with annoyance.
"Damn it! I can't believe the Ruckus they're washing up. Ya can't even make a thought." Then he turned back to his future opponent and pointed at his elf-like ears. "Of course, I wouldn't mind if it weren't for the ears." At that, Yusuke hummed questioningly at Jin while raising a confused eyebrow. "See, they're all pointy up and wigglin' unlike they were before." The cheerful-looking demon then placed both hands on his hips while grinning ear to ear. "Gettin' that way when I'm happy or excited and I haven't been either in a very long time. But saw Biggie flyin' up all the way high and past. Woo! Almost lost it." Now the male Spirit Detective is getting even more confused by the all hyped-up Jin.
