Cookies are afraid of the unknown, of the different. Afraid that they could get hurt, that something would happen.

But they weren’t like that. It’s not that they were naive, they just didn’t think one should judge the others so quickly. Their parents and friends always told them one day it would fire back and they would get hurt, but they never believed them.

That’s why they weren’t scared when he started showing. (Y/N) had noticed the mysterious cookie looking at them every time they went to sit near the lake, always looking from afar. And while others would have run or screamed at that point, they didn’t.

He was far away, but they could notice the sadness in his eyes every time their gazes met. It wasn’t for long, as he quickly disappeared the moment he was noticed. But it was enough time for them.

It became their personal goal to know the mysterious cookie.

“I brought a book today. It one of my favourites!” the cookie told him one day, smiling in his direction. The mysterious cookie stayed still, and they decided to continue.

“You don’t have to come here. I’ll read it for you”

That’s how their strange ritual began. They would bring the book and read for him for a while. He always stayed far away, but (Y/N) could see he enjoyed the time. More books came after the first one, and before they realized, he had slowly started to approach them.

The cookie could finally appreciate the grey hair and blue eyes of the cookie, a big black coat over his shoulders. He looked cute in their eyes, and they couldn’t understand why other cookies were afraid of him.

“Because I’m dangerous” Werewolf said one day as they sat near the lake, their daily reading session already over.

“I don’t think the same. I think you are a cool cookie” they said with a soft smile, earning a sad smile from him as he looked at the lake.

“You… are too kind”

“I’m just stating the facts, Werewolf. I think you are a cool cookie and nowhere dangerous. The others are wrong”

Werewolf smiled softly, their gazes meeting this time.

“...thank you, (Y/N)”

“Anytime” they said, giving his hand a soft squeeze before they looked back at the lake. Neither of them said anything else.

They enjoyed the warmth of the other’s hand in silence.

Werewolf was glad he had met them.
