I woke up in a strange bed and unfamiliar surroundings. The bed I was in was extremely soft and the sheets were soft and silky. My eyes took in the room I was in and most of the stuff in here were in black.

There wasn't much in here anyway except for this bed, two nightstand tables, a couch with a coffee table at the front with additional two chairs facing each other, a big tv screen on the right wall, a desk and several shelves behind it filled with books.

Now I know, you must be wondering why I ain't freaking out yet because waking up in a strange bed should already make any person panic for a second. I remembered what happened yesterday night though and seeing how I was with Andrew last, I doubt he would actually kidnap me.

Speaking of the devil, here he came with a tray in his hands. Most likely breakfast from what I could smell.

"Oh, you're awake. Here, I asked Rita to make some pancakes and toast since I didn't know what you would rather prefer," he placed the tray on my lap after I sat up and rubbed the back of his neck nervously.

"It's okay, I like both," I told him and he let out a relieved sigh and sat down on the bed in front of me, "have you eaten?" I asked him as I took a bite of the pancakes and let me tell you, they were delicious.

He shook his head, "I actually had in mind that if you were gonna eat the pancakes, then I would eat the toast, but I guess I should just ask Rita to make me a new one instead, huh?" He told me and I stopped munching on the toast midways with widened eyes.

Oopsie?

"No no, it's okay, you can eat both, I'll just ask Rita to make me-"

"Nonsense! Here, there's still plenty left," I cut him off and held out the toast for him to take a bite and he hesitated for a second before he gave in.

As he munched on it he let out a satisfied moan. I only smiled at him and took another bite of the pancake, "delicious, right?" He nodded his head and I fed him a bit of the pancake.

"Hmm, I should definitely start asking her to cook me more of these!" I let out a laugh and he smiled, "is Rita your housemaid?" Andrew nodded once again and gulped before he spoke, "yeah, she's like my second mother. I grew up with her when my parents were always away for business trips."

"Were your parents ever at home?" He thought about it for a second before he shook his head, "I don't have a lot of memories with my parents from my childhood but I remember that they would always bring souvenirs with them after they came home from their trips."

It was kinda sad that he never got to spend time with him parents in his childhood. I think it is very important to spent as much time as possible you can with your kids because in my opinion, I feel like the memory of a child shapes the vision of their parents.

My parents, especially my dad, always tried to go out with my sister and I when we were younger because during the weekdays we both were always living with our babysitter and only stayed with our mom and dad during the weekends.

It was hard to earn money back then because my parents barely knew and understood German, so their income was quite low.

I remember there was even a time my dad was unemployed for a very long time. I think the reason I remember this so clearly was because when my mom announced that my dad would stay at home with my sister and I for quite a while and that we could go and live with them during the weekdays as well, I was so ecstatic and asked my dad several times for how many days he didn't have to go to work.

It was obviously not some good news for my parents because being unemployed and living in a city with a quite difficult language wasn't really the best, but I remember how my parents brought the news as if it was something to be happy about just to make my sister and I happy and not worried at all.
