Noah found himself not in the same place he remembered yesterday. It had the same general feel to it but his surroundings were different. He got up and walked out of the bedroom, completely missing the fact that it was a bedroom that he walked out of.
Deciding that he wanted to start the day productive (which was very rare for him) he decided that he was going to make Ajax breakfast. After he ate his toast and soft boiled eggs he called for a hair appointment. Noah's hair reached past his ears and a few inches away from the top of his shoulders. His blue eyes would be completely covered if his brown hair fell in front of them. Sitting on his couch he stared intently at the strains of hair that fell in his face.
After what seemed like hours but in reality, was only a few minutes, Ajax arose from his bedroom. The sudden squeak of the door opening brought Noah out of his trance.
"I made breakfast." Noah stated, looking at Ajax with a blank look on his face.
Ajax nodded and walked into the kitchen. There he stood, eating his eggs while his black hair fell in his face. Sweat dripped from his toned arms and down the 'v' of his waist. Noah blushed, remembering the factor of sleeping in his room the night before.
"I'm sorry..." Noah began, looking down at the balled fists at his sides, "For taking your bed"
Ajax just shrugged saying, "Don't worry about it."
He handed Noah a plate that was filled with two pieces of toast, eggs, and blueberries. Noah silently thanked Ajax with a nod of his head before he ate at the table.
Ajax stayed and watched Noah carefully eat his breakfast from the kitchen. He made sure he didn't hurt himself if he broke the glass and he didn't choke on any of the food, not that he minded Noah choking on anything.
"How is it?" Ajax asked, smiling at Noah's blushed face.
"It's good." Noah stated, looking up at Ajax with twinkling eyes.
Something in me clicked when I saw Noah sitting on my couch, wrapped in my blankets. He looked so content and comfortable. Finally something I could call mine.
I looked up at Ajax, wondering if he was going to say anything else.
He walked over to me and sat next to my legs that were laying on the couch. I sat up and involuntarily scooted closer to him, making our faces only an inch away from each other.
Ajax leaned in closer, nearly having our noses touching. He sighed and sat back before getting off the couch. Ajax slowly brushed his hands against mine as he got off, my hands and body suddenly feeling cold with the loss of impact from his warmth.
I sighed and looked at my hands, avoiding his eye contact at all costs.
AJAX'S POV
I wanted to kiss him, I wanted to pull him close and keep him warm. I would do anything to see the small brown flakes in his blue eyes. You couldn't see them endless you were close enough to. His minty breath brushed my blonde hair back and made my cold piercings even colder. I brushed my blonde hair back with my tattooed hands. Tattoos I got when I was in high school.
I was never one that cared about my appearance, people could think whatever they wanted about me. It didn't matter to me. But Noah, his bright eyes looking at everything so sadly made me want to be a better person for him. But I didn't know him so it was foolish to think that way. Silently, I made a pact with myself, I would know more about him by the time the year ended.
"Noah, this may seem like a random question, and I'm sorry for that, but what's your favorite color?" I asked, looking at him with a blank face.
A face that expressed no certain emotion.
"Gray." He answered, simply and quietly.
I nodded and sat back, listening to him answer with such certainty but it sounded so uncertain.
"What's your favorite color?" Noah asked, his voice rising slightly by the end of his sentence.
"Red." Ajax answered, looking at me with dry eyes.
NOAH'S POV
We continued this game, I found out he went to Cavalier High School and graduated from Yale college. He studied business at Yale and worked at the café with Allison and eventually became co-founder at the café when Allison's grandmother died.
I tugged at the sleeves of the oversized white knit sweater as I answered and asked questions. Ajax eventually got bored of the game and suggested that we watched a movie. So that's what we did, for the rest of the night we sat on his brown couch and watched Godfather movies which almost made me barf because of the blood. Half way through the first movie he turned it off and put on Percy Jackson. Eventually throughout a movie number that I could not remember I fell asleep against Ajax's tattooed arm. The last thing I remember before falling asleep is red and black roses, they looked beautiful.
I woke up alone on the brown couch, the spot that Axel was sitting at was cold and vacant. Hawk was in the kitchen as usual, cooking breakfast and drinking coffee. I walked over to him and stood at the entrance of the white and black kitchen making buttermilk pancakes and pouring orange juice.
Ajax smiled at me and handed me a plate of three pancakes and a large glass of orange juice. I gulped when I saw the amount of food that was sitting on the plate. The pancakes were not small, they were probably the size of my head. I only ate one and a half pancakes that were plain, nothing but strawberries and powdered sugar were at the top.
It was 9:00 am and I had a hair appointment at 10:00am. I asked Ajax to drive me since the café was closed today and I didn't have a car. I felt bad for staying in his home and eating all his food but there was no way that I would be going back home.
I played with the rips in my navy blue jeans while I waited for him to get back from picking something up in the café. While I was waiting in the car Axel texted me, saying that he arrived home safely and that nothing bad happened on the flight.
I called him while I watched Ajax sweep up the café.
"Hey Lovely, how are you?" Axel's voice laughed through the other side of the phone.
"Where have you been?!" I asked, baffled over that fact that he would call me after everything that happened.
