You were in your seventh year of Hogwarts, the stress of the upcoming N.E.W.T.S felt heavy on your shoulders. There was so much that could go wrong, so much anxiety, so much pressure from your family. If you ever wanted to get the job you wanted you'd have to get a near-perfect score on your final exams. The late-night study sessions and messed up sleep schedule didn't help much with your stress.

What did help, however, was the comfort of your girlfriend Luna. She was always there to make sure you went on study breaks, sometimes dragging you away from your books.

You first met her when Hagrid paired the two of you together during Care of Magical Creatures. Luna had always been kind to you from the beginning- she was kind to everyone, that's why it was so hard to decipher if she felt the way you did. Luna had your heart from the very beginning, her airy nature and how she managed to see things you never noticed intrigued you. She could tell how a person was feeling just by looking at them, maybe that's how she knew how you felt about her.

In your fifth year, you were invited to Professor Slughorn's Christmas dinner, and you were in desperate need of a plus one. Your first thought was Luna, but then you heard a rumour that Harry was planning to ask her, so you backed down. Why would she want to go with you when she could go with the boy who lived?

Luna noticed there was something wrong because you weren't as excited about the party as you had been before. She watched you absentmindedly pick at your food, you'd been distant all day, and she was worried.

"Is something wrong, Y/n?" Luna asked you, and you knew there was no point in lying to her because she always saw right through you.

"It's nothing, I just don't have a plus one to Slughorn's party, and I really don't want to show up by myself," you sighed, you could imagine all of the pitiful looks you'd receive when you had no one to dance with.

"Well, why didn't you just ask me?" Luna asked over the ruckus of the Great Hall.

"Aren't you going with Harry?"

"He asked me, but I told him I'd rather go with you."

And the rest was history.

The past year had been the best of your time at Hogwarts. But now your time was coming to an end, and Luna still had one more year left.

You were nose deep in your textbook when Luna came knocking at the door of your dorm, "Come in," you shouted. Luna walked in and sat next to you on the edge of your bed, "What's up, Luna?"

Luna didn't say anything for a while, you looked up from your book and saw that she had that face on. The incredibly rare face that you tried to avoid at all costs because it meant that Luna was worried about something, in most cases that was you.

You sighed, pulling her into your arms, her head rested on your shoulder, "I'm sorry, Luna, I just need to study for this exam."

"I know, but that's all you've been doing lately. I wish I didn't need to badger you into spending time with me away from that book. You need to take better care of yourself, I'm really worried about you," Luna was right, but you didn't know what else you were supposed to do. Everything you ever wanted was hinging in the balance with these exams.

"I'm just so afraid," your voice cracked, and your face began to heat up like it always did when you were upset, "What if I don't pass? I just feel so lost lately."

Luna gingerly wiped a tear away from your cheek and rested her forehead on yours, "Then you'll just have to find your way back."

"Things are going to change, Luna."

"Well, we'll just change with them. Sing a different melody and dance a different rhythm," Luna did a little dance that made you laugh a little before your worries settled back in.

"What if I don't catch the dreams I've been chasing so hard? There's just so much uncertainty nowadays, what if I'm not brave enough to overcome them?"

"Well I can't fight your battles," Luna held your hand, her soft fingers intertwining with yours, "But I promise at the end of the day the sky will still be there, and the sun will always shine. The stars will still be up there when you want to wish upon one at night, and so will I. But even if the sky started falling and the stars disappeared into the night, I'd still be with you." Luna leaned in to kiss you; the kiss was as light as a cotton candy cloud, but you felt all your worries melt away when you felt her touch.

"Thank you, my love. You always seem to know how to comfort me."

"Come on, let's go visit the thestrals, you need a break. There's no need to keep punishing yourself by worrying; you keep this up, and you'll be missing out on living."

Her words resonated with you, she was right, and from this day forward you were going to live every moment to it's fullest.
