"Amelia why? Why would..."

"Because they were making fun of me for not having a dad," Amelia spins around interrupting Roger.

"They were all making gifts and cards for their dads in class but I couldn't join in because I don't have a dad just like I can't join in on Mother's day because I don't have mum either." Angry tears drip down her face.

"One of the girls asked why I wasn't making anything and I told her the truth but that boy overheard and started making fun of me, saying that I must be unlovable if both my parents have left me." The anger radiating from her is intense enough to make the three adults stand back from her.

"You're asking me why I hit that child? Well, why did it have to be my dad? Someone who was nothing but kind and generous and loving. He gave to so many people and this is what he gets in return, I'm sorry I hit that boy I won't do it again. No!" She shouts pushing Brian back when he tries to pull her into a hug.

She sees the hurt in his eyes, "I'm sorry," she whispers turning on her heels and runs upstairs.

Slamming the door behind her, frightening Romeo, she screams in frustration kicking the door. She pauses for a moment looking around the room seeing the letter list attached to the notice board above her desk.

Scanning her eyes down the list she sees the letter, for the day you feels anger at the world, that's the letter she needs. Swinging the door open she heads for Brian room and straight for the wardrobe. The box sat at the bottom, pulling it out she flicks through the letters until she finds the right one.

Lifting the box up she takes it back to her room and hides it in her wardrobe. Sitting on the window seat she wipes away her tears to see the writing on the paper.

Hello My Angel,

I wasn't sure if you would ever open this one but here we are. Before you read any further I want you to get out of the house and find a spot in the open air where no one will hear you, I want you away from the distraction of other people so you have time to breathe and think. Once you found a spot please continue reading.

Doing as he says Amelia grabs her coat knowing exactly where she's going. It's going to give Brian, Roger and Anita a heart attack because it means leaving the grounds of the house but technically she has her dad's permission.

She thought about taking the sneaking out approach but then she remembers how squeaky the stairs are so she just goes for it. Running downstairs she rounds the bottom and almost makes for the door when Roger notices her, eyes filled with worry, "Milly, what are you doing?"

"I'll be back, I promise," She tells them dashing for the door and out to the right where she left her bike yesterday. Grabbing it she hops on and heads down the drive for the gate Brian shouting for her to stop running after her.

Her heart pounds against her chest, she's never done anything like this and she's going to be in so much trouble when she gets back but already the feeling of the open-air reduces her anger.

Reaching the gate she quickly types in the code and rides out on to the lane. When she was sure that Brian wouldn't catch up with her she stops to put her hamlet on. She may have just run away but she doesn't want to make the situation worse by getting hit by a car.

Once clipped in to place she continues her journey, glad that she took her bike because she definitely would have been caught without it and the journey would take twenty minutes rather than forty.

The destination is a hill in a park that give you the perfect view of the stars but not at the moment because it's still light. Throwing her bike to the side she sits on the bench up there and continues reading the letter.
