A few days more passed by. While training and bringing down Hanta once again, he only looked at me.
„What is my mistake, Waira? I know you know it. Why don't you tell me?"
I chuckled and helped him up, telling him that he had to figure it out by himself. He was sure unhappy and in fact accused me using my powers, though I assured him I'm never fighting with my powers against him, playing a bit with my hands in front of my face. Wearing my gloves mostly saved me from accidentally using them as well. Gaining full control over them was rather hard, even with all the efforts. Simulacra kept telling me I was yet to scared of accidentally hurting someone. He was not wrong. In the distance we suddenly noticed a voice calling for us and as we looked around I felt a hug from behind and had to chuckle. Odne. Such a wonderful mood he had. Odne was rather special, not only to me, but in general. As I turned to him he let me go, smiling.
„Missed you."
I sure missed him as well. Both me and Hanta had quite better mood as soon as he appeared. It was rather nostalgic for me being with him again. We took care of him quite a lot when he used to be a toddler. Strangely enough, he was growing rather slow. However he became more mature by now and it was making me happy to see. As I was asking him what he had been up to he couldn't even stop talking anymore, telling all about where he went and that he was in his first actual relationship and pretty happy. He was so cheerful that day, I couldn't help myself but to smile. We later on told him that we had quite a few newbies and that he could meet up with him if he wanted to. However he let us know that he was only willing to visit for a short while, since he had plans with his partner later on that day. We agreed to spend the day with him a bit as he kept talking about all the „wonderful" things that happened, until we met Simulacra, who was happily getting greeted and hugged by Odne. This moment made me remember the days when Odne used to be younger. He was so scared, didn't even want to let go of father when he had to leave. I barely had sleep whenever we took care of him, because he was too terrified of falling asleep, it actually concerned me. It took me a while to understand why that would happen. Simulacra explained that Odne had once been taken care by a woman who wouldn't treat him fair in any sort or way. Her reasoning was simply because his skin tone was different from the others, as most viruses are in fact white, why ever. He was seen as different and as threat because he was black, so she used to treat him in an abusive way. It was unexplainable to me how someone could be that way to a child. A child is supposed to be happy after all, experience the world in the brightest, most naive way possible, but this child got dragged through the pitiful darkness and abandoned into the cold unknown. However, Odne developed into a good hearted, however sassy person. He liked to put on make up and dress up quite a lot. Nobody had a problem with that as of yet, so he was free do discover himself in who he wanted to be, just like everybody else was. Unexpectedly, Iva showed up as well, moving her finger a bit towards her which told me to come closer to her.
„Can I not learn how to fight as well? After all, I'm talking pretty well already in this short time of learning, so fighting shouldn't be all that hard."
Surprised I looked at her.
„It's not all that female to fight, however you could learn to use magic if you're actually willing to understand it."
„I was never into the formal female being, Waira and I want to make use of who I can be."
Gently I held her hands as we looked at each other.
„Iva, you're not useless. You matter already as a medical virus, so don't ever think you're life is a waste. Such an important role is mastered by only a few, you're special for sure, and magic is not easy either. See it as a new challenge."
She had to smile as she kept looking at me while kinda rightening my collar a bit.
„So you gonna do the fighting and I'll be home worrying about you? How dare you?"
We both had to chuckle as Odne was putting his hands on his waits, grinning a bit and telling us to get a room already. I begged Iva to wait for me in the library as she nodded and left off there.
„Don't take it the wrong way, there's nothing we hide."
„Yet."
I had to chuckle as we let the day move on until the evening. Then Odne had to leave back home. After hugging us tightly he made his way. Hanta then looked at me, asking if he could follow me to the library to get to know Iva better. Surely I agreed as we got there rather fast. Iva was surprisingly excited to spend time with both of us for once. We got into conversations quite fast since everyone of us had something else to talk about. She impressed us with her skill of learning as she could already speak most of the words correctly from our language and we had quite a nice time.
