I froze for fear that she might've died. Bankole's smiled vanished and he instantly swatted Jimi's hand off him and rushed over to Erica's side. She cried louder. But, I just continued to stand there— Paralysed like the idiot I was. Silent tears escaped my eyes as I watched him carry her up. As I watched her blood stain his T-shirt. As I watched the side of her bleeding head.
At the moment Mom, Mrs Bachor, Okiki and Yinka had arrived at the kitchen.
" What happened?" Mrs Bachor's terrified voice asked.
"My baby!" Mom as she rushed admits the knives to Bankole's side. He quickly searched for a napkin to stop her bleeding and finding none... He took off his shirt and tied it around her head. After which he handed her over to mom.
" Kole what happened to your face?" Okiki asked in shock.
Jimi stood behind partly watching with annoyance and fear. But, Bankole grew angrier by every passing second. He turned to look at Jimi... Ready to pounce on him like a tiger to it's prey.
" Bankole!" Mrs Bachor voiced in terror knowing fully what her son was capable of.
" Do you see what you've done!" He voiced at Jimi pointing to Erica. His voice murderous and full of anger.
" Oh now it's my fault. Jimi voiced also not backing down. Why don't you tell them who threw the knives."
" Who threw knives Ní tòrì ólùrún?" Mom lamented one hand over her head.
He heaved in and out heavily while walking over to Jimi. He grabbed his trousers drew him closer and gave him a ear tearing slap. Jimi staggered backwards holding the side of his face. Then he fell to the ground shortly afterwards.
" You should've looked for a microphone and shouted to the world that I threw the knives." He said walking to Jimi to continue his beating.
Okiki and Yinka had their hands over their mouths now as Mrs Bachor ran over to Bankole the minute he drew his hands up to give Jimi another dirty slap.
" I said stop it!. She screamed. He's your brother. Your flesh and blood... Just look at him"
"Why do you keep saying it like he's my brother.... Why are you saying it like you'd suddenly forgotten what you'd done." He said angrily staring right into her eyes.
The pain was clearly visible on Mrs Bachor's face. I had no idea what they were talking about and I could see her fists tightening. And as she rose her hands to give him a hot slap he caught it within inches of his face. They both peered angrily at each other.
" Don't let me regret ever bringing you back into my life Kole... Let go of my hand!" She ordered; tears running down her cheeks.
He squinted like he could hardly believe her words.
" Well, don't let me regret ever accepting you back Mom.... I promise history won't repeat itself." He said like it'd hurt him terribly. Then he let go of her hand. She dropped to the floor to help out Jimi. His face marked out Bankole's finger prints. This was probably the worst get together I'd had in my entire life. I looked at a still crying Erica in mom's arms and took a step to where they where.... And just like that.
I slipped over one of the knives, fell and hit my head against something cold and sharp. Then I blanked out.
A/N; it's a short chapter ikr... Plz forgive me..
I actually hated writing the fight between Jimi and Bankole... It didn't really look good to me... Anyways
