"Goooooood morning!" The morning announcement jerked Byakuya from his sleep. He slowly opened his eyes and blinked. There was something lying next to him. Then he remembered the night before. He relaxed, pulling Makoto closer to him. The small boy stirred a little. Byakuya realised he'd forgotten to take his glasses off again.
"Hey, Makoto, wake up," he gave Makoto a gentle shake. Makoto grunted and wrapped his arms around the blond boy's chest.
"I don't wanna get up yet," he grumbled.
"Makoto the morning announcement's already gone off," Byakuya insisted.
"Wait it has? Oh god I'm sorry." Makoto wriggled up so he was able sit without leaning on Byakuya and tried to pull himself out of bed.
"You might want to wait a minute and check who's coming down the hall. If the announcement's gone off, everyone who shows up on time will be moving through the building as we speak," Byakuya advised as Makoto tried to get off the bed without falling onto the floor.
"Good point..." Makoto thought a moment. "I wish I'd brought my clothes with me, then I wouldn't have to leave your room."
"We have to leave soon anyway," Byakuya muttered, standing up himself. Makoto finally got to his feet and peaked outside the door. It must've been clear because the next moment he was gone. I miss him... wait why do I miss him? He just left, and he's not going anywhere. I'm going to see him in a few moments, what's wrong with me?
Byakuya shook his head and focused himself. Ok. He needed to get dressed. He walked over to the wardrobe and selected a suit. Pulling on the outfit, he inspected himself in the mirror.
Good enough.
Next thing he knew, he was striding down the hall and Makoto was calling out good morning to him from his seat around the table.
"Heya Byakuya!"
Byakuya blinked at him and sat down. Almost everyone was here. Suddenly, he heard loud footsteps. Someone was running down the hallway. He and everyone else turned to see who it was.
"GHOST! THERE'S A GHOST!" It was Aoi. She sprinted into the hall, face pale.
"WHERE?!" Hiro jumped to his feet and looked around. Byakuya wasn't surprised to see the genuine fear in his eyes. Sakura instantly got up and went over to comfort the swimmer. He got to his feet along with the rest of the table.
"What happened?" He asked commandingly.
"I-I-I..." Aoi stammered. "I think I have to show you." She took a deep breath and Sakura helped her stand up properly. "Come with me."
"You were what now?"
"I was going to get a doughnut so I'd left my room to go visit the kitchens," Aoi explained as the class followed her down the hallway.
"A doughnut? At seven in the morning? Before even coming to meet up?" Byakuya said with a disappointed look. Aoi looked at her feet.
"Well yeah..." she pouted. "I was sad ok. Anyway so I walked past the changing rooms and..."
Byakuya noticed her focusing on her breathing. She was obviously still shaken from... whatever had happened.
"... I saw him." She said finally.
"Who?" Sakura asked quietly.
"Ch-Chihiro," Aoi stuttered.
"Them," Makoto muttered quietly.
"Huh?" She looked up at him.
"Nothing," Makoto said quickly. Byakuya looked at him with slight admiration.
"Wait, did you say... Chihiro?" Toko asked, sounding a little disappointed.
"Yeah, it was his head, floating in the changing rooms!" Aoi responded. Byakuya heard Makoto mutter something but couldn't make out any words.
"GHOST!" Hiro ran forwards. He waved his hands around as if he was warning them all to stay back. "Don't worry everyone, it's ok, I'll go in and work out how to calm it down!"
"I don't think that will be necessary, as ghosts do not exist," Byakuya interrupted, arms crossed.
"Of course they do!" Hiro looked at him as if the blond man was crazy. Byakuya stared back at him, unconvinced.
"N-not that I believe in ghosts, b-but... after what's h-happened in the past few days, an evil robot bear kinda changes how you s-s-see the world," Toko commented nervously.
"In order to investigate, we should probably go and have a look," Kyoko announced.
"Agreed," Byakuya nodded.
The group fell silent as Kyoko approached the entrance to the changing rooms. Byakuya could hear Aoi struggling to control her breathing. The lilac haired girl peaked inside, and then walked through the doorframe. After a few minuets, she called out, "it's safe!" And the rest of them followed. "Where was the ghost, Hina?" Kyoko asked when everyone was quiet.
"Th-there," the shaking girl pointed to a slightly open locker. Makoto seemed to take note of this and walked over, and when nothing happened, he gently opened the door. And there he was. Chihiro's head, floating in a locker.
