Booked this flat well in advance of a visit to LDN and found the price agreeable given the alternatives nearby. It’s proximity to Hyde Park, RAH and tube stations made it an ideal base for a short stay especially for any of the Hyde Park gigs (walkable /avoids the tube/taxi rush). Unfortunately let down at the last minute due to maintenance issues. This would usually be forgivable, as often can’t be helped. However, I had received no further info about the booking beyond the automated confirmation email a few days before. The Vrbo app simply said if no check in/out details were sent ahead of time just to ring the the host on arrival - naively didn’t follow up sooner. Having arrived in town shortly before check in opened, rang the host to let them know I was en route and they said the office would send over details shortly..45mins and still nothing. Now stood outside flat and approaching 1.5hrs after check in opened, ring again and told the office will send a code shortly.. 30 mins pass and phone again, but this time no response. Another couple arrive, having booked the flat below and have also received no check in details and can’t get through to host. Almost 2hrs after check in and get a text from the host to say there’s a leak and I have to cancel my booking to receive a refund. Except I can’t cancel because the deadline was the week before! No more info given. Has taken almost 2 weeks for Expedia to follow up and get refund. Just hope they do better for the next guests.
