This quiet light bright two double bedroom property is located on the lower ground floor of a Victorian conversion.
The apartment consists of a comfortable spacious living room with feature skylights, MODERISED kitchen with integrated appliances including dishwasher, washing machine, clothes-dryer, microwave, fridge oven & ceramic hob, toaster, kettle, cutlery, central heating etc.

There is also a TV and DVD player with miscellaneous CDs and DVDS as well as its own book collection, so you can curl up with a novel on cosy sofas after a day’s sight-seeing.

*The rental price is inclusive of all electricity and heating charges, council tax, towels, sheets and linen and also staples in the kitchen (tea, coffee, sugar, salt, pepper)*
Indeed this inclusive rate is unusual for a London apartment as most charge extra for taxes etc.
There are two compact double bedrooms with comfortable double beds. The wet room is new and it's fantastic!
The second bedroom is the bedroom I was using when the photographer came (hence slightly creased bedclothes!!) It also has a TV in this bedroom.
This room has a door leading to outside space. The outside space is small, but very useful for laundry purposes.

Bookings may begin on the afternoon of the departure date of a previous guest. However, if you have bags, you are welcome to drop them off earlier while the flat is being cleaned.

Access from Heathrow Airport couldn't be easier; take the tube directly to Gloucester Road on the Piccadilly Line, with no changes required. Takes about forty minutes. From Gatwick, the Gatwick Express leaves every fifteen minutes to Victoria station which is fifteen minutes away by cab to the flat or 3 straight tube stops to Gloucester Rd tube.

Or we have a driver who will pick you up from Heathrow. His charges are:- £48 pick up from any terminal. £38 to drop off.

Location can not be beaten (check my reviews) with just a few minutes walking distance to Natural History Museum, V&A or catch a concert at the Albert Hall home to the Proms, the world’s great classical music festival.

Most important is the closeness to the tube with West-end theaters 15 mins tube ride. It's only a 5 minute walk to Hyde Park as well as Kensington High St.

I must stress that when staying in London, location, location and location is of the utmost importance and having 3 central tube lines will get you anywhere you need to get to in London without having to change lines.

Knightsbridge is close by with the famous Harrods, it's only a 5 minutes walk to Gloucester Rd tube.

The 49 bus (3 mins walk from the flat) takes you to the new billion pound shopping complex Westfield, passing Kensington High St on the way.

There are many international restaurants and bars in the area. Quality shopping at Waitrose and nearby Sainsburys supermarkets.
Check in 4pm - checkout 10am.

We will be on hand to meet and show you how everything works in the apartment. We will happily answer your questions and fulfil you requests in any way we can and can also hire you a car and driver to take you to and from the airport if required.

Great home base location!
This was a great home base for exploring London! What a perfect location! So easy to get to everything from there with public transportation. It was an easy walk to Kensington Gardens and the Natural History and Science Museums. Despite being a “basement” apartment, it was light and airy with all the skylights. The furniture was comfortable. The place was clean and everything was easy to use. We enjoyed our stay.

Great rental in a wonderful neighborhood
We stayed here a few nights so we could see London before our cruise. I was thrilled with the neighborhood. We felt safe the entire time, even at night. The location was close to the subway system. And we also could walk to the Victoria and Albert Museum.

Great apartment for a family of 4. The location was perfect. It’s a few minute walk to the tube station and Hyde Park. Nearby Gloucester Road has all the amenities you need. The apartment was comfortable and clean. Don’t hesitate to book.

Wonderful location!
Communication with the owner was fantastic! This is a lovely neighborhood very convenient to the tube and sites in Kensington. It is small, but that was expected. Appliances worked well and it was very convenient to have a washer and dryer. The carpet could use a quick shampoo. I would recommend.

Quiet apartment in a great location
We stayed in the apartment for 3 nights and loved the location. Lively Gloucester Rd is only a few minutes walk, with plenty of shops and restaurants. Yet the apartment is in a quiet neighborhood with a beautiful garden across the street. The unit was very clean and had everything we needed. Julie was very prompt with communication and helpful without being intrusive. The beds were very comfortable and we loved hearing the rain on the skylights. Despite being a basement apartment, the skylights provided plenty of natural light. There is only one flight of stairs to navigate and we managed quite well. Thank you, Julie, for a wonderful first visit to London!

Perfect Location
We had a wonderful stay in this Kensington flat. The location can’t be beat if you want a quick walk to the tube station or to Kensington High Street, Kensington Palace, Natural History Museum or the V & A Museum. The neighborhood is very quiet and it feels quite safe walking out at night to area restaurants. The flat itself has everything you need with two bedrooms and a full bath with a nice shower. The kitchen was well appointed too. Excellent communication with the owner!

Great for family stay!
We were a family of 4 (children are 11 & 8), and this was perfect for us! It was just enough space, with great amenities. The location was perfect, a quick walk to the tube station (which has a grocery) and a lot of really good restaurants too. Julie was very responsive and we also used the driver she recommended for pickup and drop off at Heathrow, he was very friendly and helpful. I recommend both this flat as well as the driver.

Great neighborhood!
We loved the neighborhood and would stay in South Kensington again. The property worked for our family (2 boys, age 10 and 12) and my husband and I, although I think it would be more challenging if you have younger kids due to the steps and glass tables. The beds were comfortable and everything worked, the only real complaint was the furnishings/carpet/bedding are a bit dated. It was so nice to have a working kitchen and washer /dryer, and the host could not have been nicer.

Lovely location and suitable for family
Property is a basement apartment in a lovely neighborhood across from a charming private park that you have access to., and there is good access to transit, shopping and parks. There is good light from skylights but not a lot of airflow so there is high moisture in bathroom and kitchen when using if that is a concern for you. We had several minor issues come up while we were there but Property manager was very responsive when contacted.

smaller than expected
The location was wonderful and Julie was very accommodating with our early arrival. However, the bedrooms were smaller than expected with both beds right up against the wall on one side and very little room on the other side. Going down the stairs to get in was a bit tricky with luggage, but doable.

Good area very unclean flat
I’m not sure how this flat got such great reviews. We seriously thought about leaving but could not find any unbooked hotels nearby with the school holiday and American football game happening. The neighborhood is good. But unfortunately that is the only positive thing I can say. The flat itself was FILTHY! I’m not sure if the maid did not come, but it was disgusting. The carpet was not clean. There were gum wrappers on the floor. The bathroom was extremely moldy with previous hairs left in the corners. The sheets were stained yellow. The mattress had a broken spring. One of the dressers was missing a drawer. The wardrobe had a cracked mirror. The microwave had greasy handprints on it. There were wet towels left in the dryer. I took pictures of the uncleanliness. No paper towels just a holder. Two small rolls of toilet paper for a five night stay. The rain was very loud on the windows on the top of the flat. Half of the flat did not have electricity when we arrived. The owner did try to contact me to fix it but it was late at night and we were already trying to sleep. We were directed to the breaker the next day. I really wanted to like this flat as the owner seems nice, but we had a pretty bad experience and would not recommend it. I would suggest hiring a new cleaning service and updating the linens, mattress, and some furniture. Very, very disappointing.

Great flat. Great location
Loved the neighborhood. Flat worked great for our family of 4. Having the washer and dryer was great. Julie was very responsive to our questions. Reminder to some that AC is not standard in the UK! It was hit the first few days but the fans helped quite a bit. Highly recommend.

Best location possible!
This flat was the ideal location for exploring London. We loved having a home environment for our stay. It was super close to a tube station. And the washer and dryer meant we could pack light. I cannot say enough good things about the neighborhood, including shops and restaurants with everything we needed. We were there during an unprecedented heat wave and the host worked with me to pick up an extra fan. Her communication was always prompt and helpful. I'd stay there again in a heartbeat!

Excellent Stay in Kensington
My mother and I stayed in Julie's flat for 2 weeks. The flat matches the pictures exactly and was very clean and bright (even though it is a garden/basement apartment). We lost wifi for one day, but Julie was responsive and provided a refund for our inconvenience which was much appreciated. For less mobile people, the flat may be difficult to reach as there is a steep staircase down to the front door. It was not an issue for us during our stay. The flat has excellent access to groceries (Sainsbury's or Waitrose) and to the tube. Getting around town was a breeze. The area is lovely, quiet, and safe. Also, I encourage anyone staying here to use Julie's driver Raza as a driver to/from the airport. He's professional and affordable. Fantastic! Overall, we would stay in Julie's flat again if we are in London. Thank you!

Perfect location to explore London. Reasonably priced flat in a nice and safe area only an 8 minute walk to tube station. Small basement 2BR flat, but skylights provide natural lighting. We were out all day exploring so were only in the flat to sleep which is all we were looking for. Good communication from host with easy and flexible check-in.

About the host

Hosted by Julie

Host profile image
I live in N. Ireland with my husband and have been letting property since 1976. I lived in London before I married so it's always a good excuse to come back when reletting the apartment.
I have twin girls of 33 - Claire is married and teaches A level maths. Kate is also married and is a primary school teacher. Prior to this Kate pioneered a charity in Uganda for 5 years sponsoring street children called Tomorow's Heros now renamed Freedom Heroes.

Why they chose this property

I love this property because of the location as it is just so close to everything and has a real buzz to the area.
It feels very light and airy.
I also still have friends in this area.

What makes this property unique

It is much quieter than most London flats as it's a REAR lower ground floor flat and not underneath the building. That is why it's so light because it is not in the basement as such. This can be seen in the photos.
