💙 The Quiet Room by nirejseki

T, 37k, 3Zun & Wangxian

Summary: There was a room in the Cloud Recesses. They called it the quiet room. They said it was meant for healing, a safe space where you could be untroubled by the world, but Nie Mingjue suspected it had actually been designed as a torture chamber and that the Lan sect, having exposed their children to it from an early age, had simply become inured to its evils. Kay's comments: I don't even go here, but this 3Zun story is just amazing. Had me hooked from the beginning to the end. The relationship between Nie Mingjue & Lan Xichen & Jin Guangyao in this story is so messed up and to see Lan Wangji unravel is slowly after he saved Nie Mingjue from the so-called Quiet Room, where he nearly qi-deviated to death after being left there by Lan Xichen for healing - Just wow. I loved the relationship between Nie Mingjue and Lan Wangji as well and of course, theres background Wangxian and Lan Wangji taking care not only of Lan Sizhui, but of Lan Jingyi as well. I tagged this as 3Zun, but the romantic relationships are Nielan and Xiyao and if you're a big fan of Lan Xichen having done no wrong, this story is not for you. Excerpt: He could hear Wen Ruohan laughing at him (Jin Guangyao mocking him); he could hear the screams of the battlefield, the roar of the dead; he could even hear his father’s voice, which he hadn’t heard in so long – He could hear Baxia, stronger than he’d ever heard her before, and she was frantic, too. They are trying to break you, she screamed in his mind, don’t let them break you! and he remembered that she’d also been there when his father’s saber had snapped into a thousand pieces. He didn’t understand why his lover would do this to him. (Jin Guangyao had suggested it, he thought, and there was some hint of an answer just outside his grasp, just eluding him, and maybe if he could get out of the fucking quiet so that he could think he might be able to seize onto the answer, but he wasn’t, he was trapped, he was breaking -) The door opened. “Xichen,” Nie Mingjue mouthed from where he was kneeling on the floor, no longer able to move, praying that his lover had seen sense, had decided for the first time in years to trust him instead of Jin Guangyao – Lan Wangji, still covered in bandages, stared at him in horror.

pov alternating, canon divergence, thirteen years of wei wuxian's death, lan xichen/nie mingjue, lan xichen/jin guangyao, nielan, xiyao, sensory deprivation, torture, partner betrayal, infidelity, consent issues, gaslighting, manipulation, medical trauma, not lan xichen friendly, hurt nie mingjue, hurt lan wangji, gusu lan sect punishment methods, injury recovery, good parent lan wangji, single parent lan wangji, lan wangji/wei wuxian get a happy ending, bad person jin guangyao

Helping Yourself by nirejseki

Not rated, 1k, Wangxian

Summary: Wei Wuxian leaves the Burial Mounds with a brand new power, but the resentful energies have so corroded his mind that he's forgotten - many things. The name of the cultivator in purple, for example. The reason they hate their enemies so much. All he knows is how he feels about them. And there's this one cultivator in white that makes him feel - something else. Wei Wuxian is pretty sure he knows what that something is. Kay's comments: A super interesting AU in which Wei Wuxian returns from his three months in the Burial Mounds unable to remember the people around him while still remembering the feelings he has for them, which leads to some heart-breaking and some fun conclusions! Excerpt: There was only one problem. At first he’d thought the one in white was the one in purple’s friend – they spent an awful lot of time huddled together trying to think of ways to cure him – but eventually it’d been explained to him that they weren’t. In fact, the one in purple said that the one in white had previously hated him. Wei Wuxian didn’t like that. He had no idea why he didn’t like that, but he didn’t. “You’re not allowed to hate me,” he told the one in white, cornering him one day and poking him in the chest. “You’re not. You need to like me. You understand? You can’t dislike me.” The one in white blinked. He had very long eyelashes, and pretty golden irises beneath them. “I don’t dislike Wei Ying,” he said. “Good,” Wei Wuxian said, satisfied.

Wip Week - Canon Divergence (oh hey not a time travel!) fic where NHS shines (because everything is horribly wrong) @ladyunderthemolehill

T, WIP, 15k, Nie Huaisang-centric

Summary: It wasn’t that Jiang Cheng hadn’t liked Nie Huaisang well enough, when they were all learning together in the Cloud Recesses. Anyone who had the energy to keep up with Wei Wuxian – and just enough good sense to help veer him off the really bad ideas, even if he did keep egging him on in regards to the medium-grade bad ones – was good news in his books. But liking him didn’t mean respecting him, and the fact that Nie Huaisang hadn’t participated much in the war – couldn’t participate much – had led Jiang Cheng to discount him more or less entirely. That’s what made it all the more surprising when Nie Huaisang ended up being the unofficial leader of the three remaining Great Sects in opposing Jin Guangshan after the war.

Time travel, junior shenanigans in Cloud Recesses, misunderstandings, pining, all the good stuff @ladyunderthemolehill

T, WIP, 21k, Wangxian & Xuanli

Summary: The Juniors find themselves temporarily stuck in the past, and decide that now would be the perfect time to observe the epic love story of Hanguang-Jun and their Senior Wei. Things don’t quite go to plan. (Or, the Juniors deduce that a young Lan Wangji apparently hates Wei Wuxian. Clearly something is very, very wrong here).

So, MAYBE, POSSIBLY, time travel is a weakness of mine. This one has SUCH a potential! LWJ time traveling to childhood after making a deal with old god of demonic cultivation, Madam Lan lives, LWJ dealing with not being able to use his core, childhood first meeting! @ladyunderthemolehill

M, WIP, 17k, Wangxian

Summary: Twenty years after Wei Ying's death, Lan Wangji makes a deal with a long-forgotten Goddess of Demonic Cultivation. In exchange for his golden core and the promise to re-establish her worship, he is given the chance to start over again. But once he reaches the past, he finds life more complicated than ever. After all, it's not just Wei Ying he wants to save, and it hurts to realize that even those dearest to his heart are more flawed than he remembers.

Ghost Wedding by nirejseki

G, 4k, wangxian

Summary: It was meant to be the best way out of a bad situation. In other words, Lan Qiren reflected, it had been a stupid idea the entire time, they had known it was a stupid idea, and they’d all collectively decided to charge straight forward into it regardless. And the worst of it was: it had been his idea, too.
Mojo's comments: Oh my lordy this was a hoot, and I adore lan qiren with all my heart.
Excerpt: [Lan Qiren to an angry Jiang Cheng:] "...you should never have been left out of the alliance between the sects; we are the four sects, unified, and if we are to prevent another Wen sect, unified we must remain. As we have wronged you, we should make reparations,” Lan Qiren said, ignoring him. This wasn’t actually about him, except in the way that it was, a little, incidentally. “You feel burdened by the weight of carrying Wei Wuxian’s spirit – so be it! Let that be our means of reparation: we will take him from you.” “Take…take him from me?” Jiang Cheng echoed, staring blankly at him. “But…how? How can such a thing even be possible?” “The same way families have sent off their children for a millennium or more,” Lan Qiren said, and tried not to look at the way Lan Wangji’s eyes had gone as round as saucers. “Marry him out to us in a ghost marriage. We will bear the stain of his crimes and cleanse them through our righteous conduct.” “A – a ghost marriage?” Jiang Cheng asked, though he looked unwillingly intrigued. “To Wei Wuxian? You would impose such a fate on one of your own disciples?” It did not take a genius to guess what would happen next. “I will take upon this duty myself,” Lan Wangji said solemnly. “I will wed Wei Wuxian.”

no rating (I would say G), 7k, nie mingjue & nie huaisang

Summary:  The Nie sect’s ancestors were butchers; that lowly heritage is well known and widely celebrated, much to the not-entirely-concealed disdain of some of the more refined, gentlemanly sects. Butchers at home and butchers at war – everyone knows that.
What’s rather less well known is that the third sect leader, colloquially known among his descendants as ‘that idiot’, rather heroically saved an imperial princess in battle and then – and this was why he was that idiot – married her. She was a proper princess, too, the true-born daughter of the emperor; other sects might see that as a good thing, since for all that cultivation sects saw themselves as being above petty things like the politics of the common folk, a princess was still a princess.
The Nie did not.
The reason for this was quite simple. What does a cultivation style that already incorporates an increased chance of death through anger most assuredly does not need?
The blood of the eight-clawed dragon, that’s what.
My comments:  Ahahaha, after first chapter (which adorably shows nmj carting around his 'lazy' little brother until the dragon reveal) mostly a series of short glimpses into what life would be like with an nhs dragon in it. Pretty hilarious, actually.

Time Travel, Obviously by nirejseki

no rating (I’d say G), 1k, wangxian

Summary:  “If we get home, you mean,” the Jin sect junior muttered. “Where even are we? And who’s the guy playing Chenqing?”
Wei Wuxian was mildly offended. Who in the world knew enough to recognize Chenqing on sight but couldn’t recognize him?
“I’m pretty sure that’s Senior Wei,” the shorter Lan sect junior said. “Just, you know, not…Senior Mo.”
My comments:  lol
i could read sooo much more of this.
