people with tooth decay aren't bad people. they aren't lazy either. neither are they unclean or irresponsible. tooth decay doesn't make you a bad person. you don't deserve mockery, judgement, or tooth pain for having any. the only thing people with tooth decay deserve is healthcare.
Also btw trump recognizing only "the two biological sexes" harms intersex people too. I am a researcher of sex and it's affects on disease, and sex is far more complicated than "two sexes" and it always will be. Sex is multifaceted and there are far more than two binary sexes. Keep that in mind too. Don't fall into bioessentialism as you fight for trans people and intersex people.
As we see a barrage of evil executive orders come in, they are not immediately enforceable and will takes months or years to implement.
That’s still not great, but don’t let these pile up to the point of hopelessness. Take a breath, and look community leaders who will fight it every step of the way.
Reminder that when Trump was in office before a LOT of his orders got overturned or held up in lower courts for long enough that they became irrelevant. It also does not mean they WILL be enforced. Stand with your community where you can. The fight is not over. Do not obey in advance.

Most people learned from group school projects was that it's almost always easier to just do it all yourself.
Which is absolutely a recipe for burnout in the workplace. And your subsequent inability to get everything done on time will then be blamed on your "unwillingness to delegate" rather than your coworkers' sheer incompetence combined with their extraordinary efforts to avoid any work they can get others to do, to the point where you're certain that they're putting more effort into it than it would be to cooperate with you.
You might see fundraising posts with thousands of notes on your dash daily and think to yourself "this person must be doing fine!"
I wish that were true. I saw a post earlier referring to people with fundraisers as "those fortunate enough to have internet clout" but unfortunately internet clout is not a currency that can buy food and other necessities. It's only a testament to how much effort that person spends desperately networking in order to make ends meet, and often not succeeding at that. These people do not have an advantage.

I told Amal that it would be hard to fundraise for her, if she wasn't present on Tumblr, and her GFM was gone. I was really worried about her; I obviously cannot fathom the psychological trauma of a genocide, and she'd been so depressed over the past few months that... Well...
But when she finally responded... She was full of hope.
She said that the psychological pressure of begging had become too much, after all this time, and between that and the hope brought on by the ceasefire... She'd like to stop. That she's thankful for everything everyone has done, but that she wants to take it into her own hands, that there's a chance for her to do so now.
And you know... What could I say to that? To someone who'd found self-determination after so long of suffering? I don't know if she's overly hopeful or what, but I don't have the heart to take that from her if that's what keeps her going.
So I wished her good luck, and to keep in touch with me. 🙏🏾 I want to thank everyone that helped me help Amal in particular. I like seeing the spark back in my friend.

it was border patrol and not technically ice raids that happened in my city but it happened so suddenly there was a lot of confusion. this is just what has happened in my city and nearby, so i don't want to spread misinformation and i can't say what has happened in other places. but it is important to watch for these things regardless. i live in california but i dont live anywhere near the border so border patrol isnt normally seen here!
They've started in central and southern California already. Family members there have been telling me about it. Other relatives in Chicago have said the same.

Tuesday, January 21st: Hello, everyone. I’m Gem, a bi, mentally ill, and disabled woman in desperate need of help as I'm struggling to pay off my debt and get groceries!!
I apologize for asking for help again; as most of you know from my previous posts, I have been struggling quite a lot to make ends meet while on welfare benefits and due to my rent arrears and ever-increasing debt. And to be quite honest, these past few months have been absolute hell for me, and with no other income, I've been relying on the kindness of others to get by.
However, I desperately need that kindness again; as some bills came out early and fees were added to my account, this balance has been bouncing between my PP and my bank, accruing fees that I am struggling to pay. I don't receive my welfare until the 31st and could really use some help because, if I can't pay this balance off by then, my welfare will be taken and I won't be able to pay my rent later on!!
Again, I know this is a lot to ask, especially in January, but if anyone could spare any amount to help me, even if it’s just £1/$1/€1, it would save my life, and sharing helps just as much.
