Me, an artist : *spends hours perfecting anatomy, proportions, clothing folds, colors, perspective, rendering, background, lights, the 2% overlay layer of doom, etc etc*

Also me, an artist : *posts said art at the worst possible fucking time known to mankind when literally nobody on earth is online*

My favourite illustrators

These are a compilation of some of my favourite illustrators of children's classics. I grew up reading these books, and the art in them were a source of fascination and joy throughout. As much as I loved the books and the stories, the illustrations are what made everything come alive and feel more magical.

Sadly, as authors enjoy immense popularity over their works, I feel very few people take note of the illustrators who contribute equally in making these stories unforgettable.

So here's my tribute to them. There are hundreds more, but I list only a few of my most favourite ones :

.

.

1 Quentin Blake
All of Roald Dahl's books
.
.
2 Pauline Baynes
Chronicles of Narnia
.
.
3 Eileen Soper
Famous Five Series
.
.
4 E. H. Shepard
Wind in the Willows
Winnie the Pooh series
.
.
5 Beek
The Noddy Books

[ Here I have considered only the original illustrators for the books' very first editions. ]
