if i reblog something from a shitty person, let me know and ill delete/block. if you need something tagged, feel free to remind me (because i forget sometimes). really if you need or want to talk to me about anything, feel free to do so — i try my best to create a decent community atmosphere here and be friendly to all.

My name is Ahmad Al-Ashi, a 24-year-old young man from Gaza.

For years, I have been the sole provider for my family. I live with my mother, who is 68 years old and suffers from chronic illnesses that weigh heavily on both of us. Her condition requires daily care and constant medication, but we can barely afford enough food to survive, let alone the expensive medicines she desperately needs.

My own health is not much better. I suffer from liver disease, and my liver enzyme levels are extremely high, leaving me in constant pain every single day. This illness prevents me from working consistently, and sometimes I even struggle to help my mother with the simplest tasks.

As for our living conditions, we reside in a tent—if it can even be called that. It provides no protection from the scorching heat of summer or the freezing cold of winter. The severe inflation in Gaza has made even basic necessities unaffordable. Food has become a luxury, and medicine feels like an unattainable dream. Every day, we face a battle between hunger and illness, between hope and despair.

Despite all of this, I continue to fight, standing as best I can for my mother and my family, searching for any glimmer of hope that can help us overcome this harsh ordeal. Our story is not just one of pain; it is a plea to anyone who can offer help, to anyone with a compassionate heart who can be the reason we survive this nightmare.

We are in desperate need of someone to extend a helping hand because our lives are on the brink of collapse.

I have just realized that no one truly FEELS the fire🔥 except those who are burned by it.

If any of you put yourselves in our place, you would feel what we go through and the hardships we face.

I am sorry to speak in this way, but this is the result of the disappointment I feel.

You can only imagine how it feels to wake up every morning to the sound of gunfire, bombing, and destruction.

You can only imagine what life is like when you lack the basics and essentials needed to survive.

Think of others, and I sincerely hope that you never experience or endure the circumstances we are going through.

REMEMBER

When you give to those in need, you become the light in their storm, reminding them that hope still exists.

I need to get another tumor removal surgery to get the tumors that hadnt shown up in scans. They have one more slot open on Friday, the 3rd and then I may have to get transferred to a different hospital. I just recently got a place a few days ago after being homeless for a month while being sick. Currently dealing with bronchitis I'm doing NEW YEARS TAROT READINGS (12 cards for each month of the new year) and @scarsofbeauty is doing art comissions on their page. I also edit papers & resumes! please share to help a disabled afro-indigenous queer person escape get surgery so that they can live and get their son and pets back.

$297 for tumor removal! I have until tomorrow to get this in for surgery

ca: $kendyhoney (also have Ko-fi)

i don't wanna sound hopeless but i feel like so many of you don't care or have stopped caring about palestine.

the news of hospitals being bombed, children being massacred, people dying from the cold, and the famine spreading in gaza does not seem enough to grab attention or make people care.

what new tragedy needs to befall gaza for you to start talking about it? the occupation kills a child every few minutes. people are cold and are starving. refugee camps are being bombed with bombs that can level city blocks.

this all happens because of all of us. we are complicit in this genocide because our governments use the taxes we pay to send weapons to the occupation. weapons that are used to kill children and impose a blockade that is starving 2 million people.

the very fact that we're still going about our days when all of this is going on breaks my heart. especially because we have failed to stop our governments from using our money to arm israel.

i urge you, please be generous and donate to suad and her baby khaled. he is just six months old and suad is unable to find any formula for him. if she finds anything, it is extremely expensive. the baby also needs warm clothes and is suffering from a respiratory problem and needs a nebulizer.

Please take a few minutes to watch the video and read this post.

I am writing these words after losing hope in everyone… except for you, my friends. Tumblr has a very large number of users, estimated in the millions . That’s an enormous number! But imagine, with all those of people, how would you feel if people saw you and ignored you? You’d feel deeply disappointed, right? Or maybe you’d even wish for death.

Have you ever wished for death? For me, I feel like I’d rather die than be ignored by everyone. If I wasn’t in desperate need of help, I wouldn’t ask anyone for it. I really need help.

Imagine for a moment that you have a small child you love dearly, and you’re forced to watch her suffer in front of your eyes. This isn’t just an imagination for me; it’s my reality. My family and I live this pain every day.

The Rafah crossing will open its doors for travel a month from now. If we do not collect enough money for all of us to go out, we will be forced to separate and the family will be dispersed. Please stand with us and do not allow us to separate and our family to separate. We all want to get out of here.

Please, be our hope. Be our voice. Be the ones who save us from despair. Don’t ignore us. Donate, even if it’s just $5 .

There are so many people reading this post right now. I beg anyone who sees these words to donate if they can, and if not, to share this post. Please, don’t leave us behind.

Be our family, or think of us as members of your own family, and save us from this suffering.

No matter how small the amount, your help means the world to us. And if you can’t donate, share this post and add a few kind words to inspire others to help.

Thank you so much, everyone. I wish you all the best.

Currently at $7649 (CAD) Only $351 (CAD) away to 8k

Help out however you can. No donation is too small. Thank you my friends for helping me. Please continue to donate so I can reach my goal .We are close to the goal 10k. Your donations are what will save us. If we don't raise enough money, my family and I will have to separate, and we will be separated and far from each other. The family will be dispersed. We want to travel and leave Gaza together because my family cannot live without me. Our lives are in your hands. Please donate even a little, leave your beautiful mark in our lives. Please, everything helps and benefits us. Please donate, friends. We need all the support you can. Please help us and donate.

Please let us get to 8k as soon as possible. I am only $351 (CAD) away from the amount.

Winter in tents is different

Stop for a moment and look into your eyes.🛑🚨
I am Hashem from Gaza.🍉
My children and I are suffering from the war and its woes.
On the one hand, I no longer have a source of livelihood or a home. It was all destroyed by the war.
On the other hand, winter came and the rains flooded my tent and destroyed the small basic things I had collected.
My children have caught colds, skin infections, and respiratory diseases. Winter in Gaza is different from any other country. We sleep on the ground and the rainy sky covers us.
I shyly ask you to help and donate to me and my children to survive the war and get through the harsh winter phase. My children cannot bear the cold and rain of winter.

Every year on this day we celebrate and congratulate Christmas..

This year, as the previous one, we did not celebrate because of the war..

The campaign is going very slowly and we still need to reach our goal.. Unfortunately we lost our apartment, we lost our basic jobs and we lost our benefits too.. and the interaction with us is very weak..

Now we are in the Gaza Strip in the worst and most difficult phase ever..

Famine is killing our people..and the cold and rain are killing us as well as the bombing and missiles and no one remembers us and the world is silent and has no voice..

Oh people, stand with us..

Hey friends, Neveen and Alram and their four children have gone nine days without donations. I don't know why, but every time I post about this family, the post doesn't do well and the donations don't change. I say this not as a criticism (I'm so proud of all of us tbh) but to seek insight on how I can better promote this family. I'm not really an influencer type -- in fact, I'm looking to delegate post-writing to other people and spend most of my time on the spreadsheet, if the spreadsheet ends up being helpful to people and I can find people to take on my posting obligations.

These kids are in serious danger of freezing. I don't know if you've seen, but kids are freezing to death right now in Gaza. Any money you could send Neveen's way would help so much.

I don't know if it's because they're vetted by association instead of just vetted, but if that's where the hesitation is coming from, let's all try to keep in mind that both are equally valid and there's little difference between the two. I've seen organizers with the Sidra Project talk with and about this family, they have confirmed they are real.

I've also noticed that ever since the U.S. election, raising funds on here has suffered significantly. I'm in the U.S., and I can definitely appreciate the need to attend to our own health and safety in preparation for the regime change. I am disabled and queer and very worried for myself and my friends. But I can't drop these families.

This community of people on Tumblr is the best group I've come across for raising money for Palestinians. Please let me know any changes I can make that can help Neveen's campaign, or that can benefit the community in general. Please check out Neveen's campaign and see if you can donate. The kids are straight up starving and freezing. Someone stole a lot of the kids' clothes from the wash recently. Please see if you can help.

Vetted by association by the Sidra Project (Omar #28's neighbor)

hi i know “don’t believe everything you read on tumblr” has been said enough times at this point in the website’s tenure but i want to specifically say that there is a problem on tumblr and other social media where well-known science enthusiast accounts basically build trust as Knowing Things and then they can say anything they want about those things & everyone just believes them. this is especially a problem among ppl posting about ecology & animal science in my experience.

i’m absolutely throwing stones in my own glass house bc i almost never used to include sources on my wildlife science posts on my old blog but these days i try to make a point of it & i think others should too.

i don’t even think anyone is lying or making things up on purpose. i think they’ve just heard it from another source they consider reliable & they’re spreading incorrect or incomplete information without questioning it, to a much larger platform. about ten years ago I myself made a post repeating something a wildlife professor said to me, which turned out to be outdated info and mostly inaccurate. i trusted him as a source, but i should have looked at the data before sharing it to a wider audience. it was an important lesson!

basically idc how many times popular content creators on here or any other site/app have been correct about other things in other posts. you should still make a habit of asking yourself “what’s the source?” even when it’s a blog you like & trust. bc let me tell ya, i have seen some doozies lately

Hi guys! Yujatea here! If you enjoy my work, I’d like to please ask for a moment of your time to consider helping this family I’m supporting! Shaima is a mother of four children, Abdul Rahim, Walid, Majdi, and baby Amal. Shaima is struggling to support her children since her husband disappeared, and needs urgent help with providing food and resources for them, especially as winter sweeps through Gaza! This family’s fundraising campaign (@familgazaamal1) is completely vetted and I’m trying to use my platforms to raise awareness on their behalf. I’ll be opening my commissions to raise funds for their campaign so keep your eyes peeled! I’ll also post their fundraiser link in my highlights as well! Thanks guys! Let’s do our part to reclaim kindness and uplift each other!

Here's a message from the family:

In Gaza, where conflict looms over daily life, children’s dreams remain a ray of hope. Abdul Rahim, a young boy, dreams of becoming a famous artist, using his drawings to tell the world about the beauty of his homeland. Walid, on the other hand, dreams of playing football in a big stadium, representing his country despite the obstacles around him. Majdi, a cat lover, dreams of becoming a kind person and helping children. Majdi, who dreams of opening an animal shelter to care for animals in Gaza. Even in the midst of war, these children cling to their dreams, believing that one day, despite the difficulties, they will achieve their goals. Their dreams are not only about personal success, but also about shedding light on a world filled with darkness. These dreams symbolize the resilience of Gaza’s children, showing that hope and determination can survive even the most difficult circumstances.

In the heart of the ongoing war, Shaima lives with her four children, constantly struggling with pain and waiting. Her husband, who was once the source of security and happiness, left a long time ago, facing the challenges of war far from them. Every day, Shaima makes earnest efforts to keep life going despite the hardships. She strives to provide food and shelter while trying to instill hope in the hearts of her children, who are still waiting for their father’s return, a father they know little about other than his absence. Her four children, despite their young age, carry great hopes in their hearts. The eldest, who everyone sees as the "little father," dreams of their father returning to embrace them as he did in the past. The youngest, on the other hand, wakes up at night searching for his father's voice, wishing for his return to feel safe again. Shaima's dream is every mother’s dream in this war: for her husband to return safely so they can live together again in peace and security. She dreams of the days when her husband filled their home with joy, and she prays for the end of the war so their family can reunite once more. Yet, amid the destruction and tears, hope remains their strength. Shaima knows that her patience and resilience are what keep the family going. Despite the difficult days, she continues to resist, dreaming of the moment when her family will be whole again, with her husband and the father of her children back home.

Thank you my friend for the help.
