Being bad....
My heart is broken for my city of New Orleans. For all its problems on a city-level and state level, I do love this city. I never thought terrorism would hit my smaller city and I'm frankly in shock. My heart aches for the families who are affected by this tragedy.
I spent the morning of New Year's Day preemptively telling loved ones that my partner and I are safe. (I worked that evening and he was home safe) gutted knowing many family members affected by this weren't receiving texts like this. The previous year we were on Bourbon showing our out of town friends a good time. The Sugar Bowl draws a massive crowd, Bourbon was the craziest I had seen it that year.
New Orleans is everything to me. It's got a reputation for being boozy, but there is so much more than that to be found here. It's emphasis on welcoming everyone and encouraging others to have a good time with one another, enjoying the riches of life including spending those moments with people you love, means so much to me. I've been a server for years and have served people all over the world and you can feel the love for the city and what we provide from everyone. This is truly a place of connection and resilience.
Please keep the city and the families in your hearts.
New Orleans 💔

Just seeing the news about New Orleans and my whole body is cold- it's always painful to see a tragedy but so close to home? My heart aches like never before, those same roads, the signs and windows I've walked past... New Orleans is not perfect, it never will be, but those people lost were closer to me than anyone I can ever know up here or anywhere else. "Heart break" can not describe it...
huh.....🤔
I have so much to say, but I'm also confused lol😭 There's just so many ways you can interpret it.....
