Namennayo Delinquent Cats Photobook! (1981), by photographer Satoru Tsuda
The first Namennayo pictures showed the kittens participating in typical juvenile delinquent behavior, including smoking in school bathrooms, rolling out in motorcycle gangs, and playing in high-stakes battle of the bands tournaments. The kittens were modeled after typical teenage rebels and the name “Namenayo” means “Don’t lick me!” But can be taken to mean “don’t mess with me!”
