Commissions are open~! (ノ´´)ノ*:・゚

Here’s the link to the request form and more in-depth/important info: [ X ]

You can also contact me at [email protected], message me here off anon, or message me on Twitter: jannellee_o

You can always check my art tag and commission art tag for more examples of what I can do.

I draw:

  • Most fandoms and ships (platonic/romantic/…etc.? haha)
  • Original characters (either your own or mine, I’m personally okay with drawing my own characters for you if you’d like.).
  • Animals/Anthro are a-okay with me
  • Friends/family/yourself/any other real peeps

For all, please be as specific/detailed as possible and provide any necessary visual references so I can accurately portray what you’d like.

I don’t draw:

  • NSFW (mild nudity is okay, but nothing that ends up being very explicit)
  • Really realistic stuff (Not the best at it honestly 😅)
  • Heavily mechanical characters/objects
  • Any other themes/ideas that would make me uncomfortable to draw

( I’ll let you know if your commission request is something I’m unable to do )

Payment:

The prices are based on USD currency. I accept payment through PayPal (will send out an invoice) and Venmo. I prefer payment upfront, but I’m also okay with pay half upfront/half after it’s done too. c:

If you have any other questions, feel free to send a message/email. I’ll do my best to respond as soon as I can. :’D

Thank you all a whole bunch for reading through this, I’d love to create something wonderful for you~(人 •͈ᴗ•͈✿ฺ)

I’m laughing, but there’s a super useful corollary, which my husband calls “the Red Balloon.” He was a defense lawyer and had a fair number of drug addicts come through, and there is a thing where if you’re like, on your first offense, they’ll do a thing where you can go to treatment and if you complete it they’ll take the conviction off your record.  And he would tell his clients, “Look, everyone’s going to tell you not to do drugs. They’re going to say it over and over again. And it’s like, if people tell you not to think of a white elephant, you’re going to think of a white elephant. But the trick to not thinking about a white elephant is to think of a red balloon. So you need to find your red balloon. For some people it’s yoga. For others it’s woodworking. For some people it’s scrapbooking or gardening or any of a long list of things to do. They focus on that, it’s a lot easier to succeed in ignoring the white elephant.” So yeah, “watch yourself” is one thing… but the better idea is to watch something else. (Even if it’s fanfic about werewolves fucking.)

It’s a form of productive dissociation, and is super, super helpful. It’s easy for me to get bogged down in how much pain I’m in… but some of the most painful periods of my life have also been the most productive, writing-wise, because writing is one of my red balloons.

There is a phrase I use A LOT in my parenting and my son gets very sick of it, but it’s true:

The thing you practise is the thing you get good at.

You may not intentionally be practicing “being grumpy” but if you don’t put effort into practicing “not being grumpy” then I’m afraid that’s what you’re doing. It’s hard! It’s really hard! Sometimes, for some things, it’s pretty much impossible and that sucks!

But being carefully aware that you are going to get good at the things you do most of is a good way to be more careful of what those things are. If that makes sense.

You gotta appreciate sometimes how tumblr works in such a way that everyone who wants to reblog this interesting or useful psychological advice is also forced to reblog the thing about werewolf fucking

more and more these days i notice people who lead lives of abject cultural and artistic incuriosity, who, when challenged with the reality that certain properties and artists are not deeply obscure and accessible only to ivory-tower academics but actually are incredibly popular and enduring - such as the odyssey and john waters, to name two examples i've seen create dust-ups in the last few days - when they're told that, no, a lot of us do actually know who john waters is, a lot of us have read the odyssey in high school english class, etc., they lash out and insist that you must either be lying or beyond pretentious. and i have all kinds of theories as to what has led to this phenomenon but all i can say in response to all of them is GET A GRIP

like it used to be, not even that long ago but 10-15 years ago, if you didn't know about some incredibly basic shit or get a reference to a book pretty much everyone reads in school at some point, the socially acceptable response was to be kind of embarrassed and learn about it on your own. now the response is to get angry and accusatory toward the people who know about more shit than you. i think it's a combination of unchecked poptimism in the media (and if what's popular is deemed to be good simply by virtue of being popular, you never have any reason to seek out things that aren't being spoon-fed to you by corporate media giants), the rise of streamers and youtubers making content for kids that is completely divorced from the cultural context that you'd otherwise get microdoses of while watching the simpsons or 30 rock or whatever, and a lot of adults (all ages) walking around with severely dysregulated emotions who look for opportunities when they feel "wronged" to attack others without consequence (which has been encouraged and inculcated in them by social media). it's bleak, y'all

One thing you can do in this frigid weather is make ice decorations. Good activity for kids, but I’m my own kid.

I think I might make at least one of these today. I make them in old aluminum pie pans and put them in the freezer then hang them outside. Remember to put a loop of string in before you freeze them or you can’t hang them!
