MASTERLIST OF VETTED FUNDRAISERS

Before anything else, I want to adress the belief that sharing campaings does nothing:

It's a lie. Simple as that. It's a lie designed to undermine us, and break our sense of community and solidarity. And it has the horrible consequence of taking away from the people who want to help.

There's a reason why my blog went from silly fandom dumpster sprinkled with content and news about Palestine, to a blog mostly dedicated to sharing fundraisers: It's because I can't do anything else but this. I can't protest, I can't donate, I can't even wear a keffiyeh. I can only share the fundraisers and boycott.

But even if the only thing I can do is share, It has had an impact on many people's life. So if you want to help but don't know how, this is the way you help!

Here is a masterlist of vetted fundraisers who desperately need our help. I will update it regularly with more fundraisers, and I will also start a rotation system, in wich I'll put four fundraisers in the spotlight for a week.

I beg that y'all read each of their stories as if it were yours, that you open your hearts to this families in need. Don't let the media erase their struggles and existence!

------------------

------- EXTREMELY LOW ON FUNDS

----------

NOTE OF JULY 9TH: I'm currently unable to access my laptop rn, so editing and updating this list will have to wait at least two weeks, but if you want me to reblog a fundraiser send an ask, and I will gladly do so!

NOTE OF JULY 24TH: I'm finally back to work on these fundraisers. I'll be updaiting this list with more campaings, and I'll be open to create more posts and reblogging. Please bear with me as I catch up.

Alright so I found another reason to hate the flashback in s2. Crazy right? Well tbf, it's not about the flashback in particular this time, but rather wasted opportunity. After rewatching some of Silco's scenes in season 1 I caught myself thinking: "Huh. This guy sure mentions sons and daughters/brothers and sisters a lot. Interesting thing to do for a character who treats people as resources". And then it hit me. There's just a GOLDMINE (heh) of untouched inner conflict to explore within Silco.

Just think about it. He probably went to work in the mines as soon as he was capable to and was raised by people there. Like he mentions in a dialog with Finn, they were a tightly connected community who always looked after each other, making sure everyone survived on the sparce resources they had. So wouldn't it be better to focus the flashback on that community rather than one specific person? We already know that Silco and Vander were the closest people to each other, so to introduce another person to the equation doesn't really make sense. The flashback can still happen at The Last Drop, but a party could be happening there. Maybe not even to celebrate something, but to just have a good time with everyone. And we could be shown how Silco interacted with all these different people, knew their personal struggles and goals, excitedly discussed what they're gonna do after liberation with them, what everyone is going to do once they'll be fully free of the mines. To really show us and emphasize the fact that BOTH Vander and Silco built the Lanes. Vander wasn't the only one to value the community, he just wasn't the one who was ready to sacrifice it for their goal. And this is very important too!! Because it's easy to think of Silco as a ruthless calculating machine that never cared for the people. But he clearly did. And we could be shown how desperation broke him, because even after everything he and Vander did their friends and adoptive family were still dying. Some from the accidents in the mines, some from diseases caused by the Grey, some from enforcers' brutality etc. So it was REALLY hard for him to cross that line and place the cause above all else. And a parallel can be created there: in ep3 Vander says that he cooperated with Grayson because he "didn't have another choice", so maybe Silco thought the same when he made a decision to stop valuing his people above else? A really interesting conversation can be had there, but "bLiStErS aNd BeDrOcK" is cooler apparently.

i dont know how to soften this blow but if the arcane team had always wanted to end the piltover-zaunite this way, they shouldnt have written season 1 from zaun's perspective.

if this is the ending they've always wanted; then congratulations, you just sent a message for the struggling class that you'll always be lesser no matter your efforts and that you must be the bigger person against your oppressors or else they will fight back with worse. play the obedient role and they'll spare you. grief allows you to do war crimes and spares you from accountability. cops who swing their fists blindly in the name of justice is okay and will not be held accountable for their actions. second chances are decided by the people in power and for the people in power. classism is okay. alcoholism is a joke. the only way out for a former 'bad person' who's 'badness' is caused by never ending trauma - who happens to be suicidal - is by self-sacrifice. love is blind. love immediately forgives the wrongful actions you've done towards your loved ones. love also means it's okay for you to not ask for accountability for the wrong actions your loved ones has done to you.

they said they dont want to get political but oh my it's only obvious after it's spelled out, no?

Make sure to read every word. Let it sink in. Doesn't it send a shiver down your spine? It does for me. Especially with the fact that a crowdfunding platform known for helping people recover from their finances would pull something like this! And they have announced it on other than October 7th, 2024, a year into the accelerated genocide that is taking in place in Gaza.

Iyad Sobhe (@yadsgaza) and Ruba (@rubashsblog) are long time neighbours and friends who consider each other as family. They are raising funds with PayPal ever since GFM has either terminated their fundraiser or made them lose access. Iyad has lost 11K while Ruba can no longer withdraw the 27K.

They can not afford to start all over when PayPal is their last resort. This means we have less than A MONTH to raise the entire amount of 60K! So please donate and share! Donations have slowed down significantly, resulting in 1 or 2 donations per day, when we should be raising $600!

You can match my friend! She has given $10 USD and if we have at least 60 people contribute the same amount in a month, we would able to succeed! (But you're more than welcome to give any amount! Even as little as $1 since PayPal accepts such amount!)

Verification: #90 for Ruba and #173 for Iyad in the spreadsheet by Hussein (@/el-shab-hussein) and Nairuz (@/nabulsi) [Keep in mind that the document has not been updated and does not reflect the current fundraiser. You can learn about it here]

$19,831 / $20,000 USD

Only 1 donation was made in the past 18 hours. Please keep donating and sharing so we reach the 20K mark! Remember: this fundraiser support 2 families - a total of 15 people - and they need to purchase basic necessities, but the prices have been sky rocketing!

No change has been made. Please keep donating and sharing. This fundraiser supports 2 families - a total of 15 people - and we need to raise 60K by January 12th since PayPal has shut down fundraising services! So please donate and share! You can give as little as $1 USD since PayPal accepts such amount.

i think the biggest divide on act 3 is because half the arcane fans hate the clearly fascist coding in the season/show and the other half are angry their ships (mainly jayvik and caitvi) aren't being congratulated enough on being so well-written.

me personally, i think the caitvi sex-in-the-jail and jayvik "your imperfections are beautiful" scenes can be well-written and still fucking insensitive. these aren't mutually exclusive. you can acknowledge that act 3 isn't completely incoherent (narratively) and still hold that the politics of season 2 are abhorrent and politically immature (esp compared to season 1). you can think the scene in the cell with caitvi was natural (even beautiful) for vi's character, and still acknowledge that there were cultural connotations and parallels that rightfully tarnish that scene for certain audience members. just because vi didn't kiss cait because of some power dynamic, doesn't mean there wasn't a power dynamic.

my biggest disappointment with the finale is how it turns its back on its politics, trivializing something the show had once taken seriously (namely, the oppression of zaunites by piltovians). i think fans have a right to be mad about that.

Silco and his terror of a daughter

And THIS is why I hate S2. Why couldn't we get ONE flashback to Silco and Jinx? I want to know how he handled her ADHD/PTSD and general trauma. How did Silco raise her? Did they have special moments? Did she look on him as a father?

vi got colonised tbh. it gives me that feeling when a rich white old man gets with a young SEA lady, brings her to britain and she only gets to see her family through facetime, and that's also the only time she speaks her native language because her man refuses to learn it

cait basically erased vi's identity as a zaunite. she loved vi in spite of that, instead of as a part of her. like how she told vi that she's not like the other zaunites, and saying 'i thought you were one of us' fully expecting her to step away from her people.

vi's been assimilated into piltover, even going against her own ideals by becoming part of the people (enforcers) who killed her parents, who were responsible for executing the systematic oppression of zaun. yet caitlyn's never assimilated into zaun, never even stepping foot into zaun beyond the first caitvi meeting and later when she was gassing the citizens. the show ended with vi living with caitlyn in the top 1% of piltover; no mutual exchange of culture. caitlyn never had to change her mind about zaun the way vi changed her mind about piltover, and remained oblivious to her own privilege and her family's legacy on zaun.

it's just that the sacrifices vi has made for cait, on her identity and on a moral level, has been completely one-sided. this, the imbalanced power dynamic and caitlyn's subtle prejudice against zaun (*) have never been acknowledged in the show. so for them to get back together and have their happy ending without some sort of introspective reflection feels. very uncomfortable. feels like cognitive dissonance.

(*) i say subtle because other than the warcrimes moment, cait often voices her opposition to extreme measures against zaun. however, she supports 'no extreme measures' and 'they are people too' as normative ideas, not really having the ability to recognise the violation of these ideas when it's in front of her and especially not when she's the one violating them. there's constantly an undercurrent of subconscious prejudice in her attitude towards zaunites, and just, a real lack of understanding

don’t know about colonization simply because I think that problem has more to do with the writing than Caitlyn as a person. But the last part of your post, I agree with. And your take isn’t even that far fetched when they completely take away anything that has to with class in the second season. But can’t because they already built that up as a foundation for the series.

Anyway, this was hidden in the tags (of prev):

and like, yeah. Hit the nail right on the head with this.

Bombarded, blockaded, stripped of all lifelines, even UNRWA which is a UN organ unjustly labeled as a terror organization. It's like the world keeps daring Gaza to give up, and Gaza keeps stubbornly refusing, just standing there, bruised and battered but still breathing. And the Gazians? We're experts in endurance, living each day with almost nothing, finding ways to hold on, discovering beauty and strength even when it feels like the world is stacked against us.

And then there's GoFundMe. For some, it's a place to fund a dream project; for Gaza, it's become one of the last threads of hope. Every dollar, every small donation, is like a patch on the wound, a tiny light in the dark. Because for us Gazians, resilience isn't just some inspiring buzzword; it's a necessity. But we can't do it alone. So if you've got $5 or $10 to spare, send it our way. Because right now, support isn't just helpful; it's survival.

If, for some reason, you couldn't donate via GoFundMe, you can donate via PayPal instead.

The more Im on tumblr today, the more pro-genocide Im getting so Im logging off because holy fuck this website's response is so bad to the point where Im happy with the idea of genocide and that's insane

me when I'm not a fascist: my guy lost so now i love genocide

Me when I'm not a fascist: the only thing keeping the person who wants to do a second holocaust from being in charge of the most powerful government and military in the world just failed to stop that, and it's literally everyone around me's fault. I no longer think the people around me deserve to live if we couldn't even get it together enough to stop the most cartoonishly evil man alive.

To the people who are saying "i hope trump turns Gaza into a parking lot" as some sort of twisted idea of payback — you guys do realize that entire towns have been completely leveled right. Like I'm not exaggerating peoples homes are literally just gone already. they've been gone for months now.

No they don't realize because they never gave a fuck they never cared. It was okay when they could blame it all on the zionist occupation but when they realized their settler colony was just as much to blame they decided to hide and pretend they were righteous.
